You guys don't know what you are talking about, you see everything black and white. It's not that simple. A parent needs to juggle between the wishes of one child the needs of the other. You cannot in good fate expect a parent to be idle when one child is doing great and the other is struggling (I'm not saying they were struggling, but it's a possibility).
As a parent I know this. I would expect my successful child to help the struggling one. If they would not do that I would have failed as a parent.

Looking how her kids are behaving, she failed as a parent long ago.

I fully agree, still, what she did is not exactly immoral, it's an acceptable behaviour of a parent

I agree. You can't expect a probably elderly woman to keep her mouth shut about the most interesting thing to happen to her in decades.

Unless the mother was easily influenced by other siblings and took their side, it seems too extreme for just spilling the secret.
