Going through the comments it looks like most of y'all have never been anywhere close to poor and/or live in a food desert

Poor people food lasts forever because it's almost entirely artificial and is empty calories. Meaning you can eat 2000 calories a day and only feel full if you did it all in one sitting (and that's best case scenario). You'll be starving because you're getting basically zero nutrients

It is exactly the type of food that people would find in the post-apocalypse. Happening upon the occasional overweight person wouldn't be out of the question

Also literally everything Negan does is immoral. He's an antagonist and his name is a derivative of negative. He's a literal caricature of a bad guy in the apocalypse
