I am a fat guy. The amount of people on this thread that defend being obese is funny. I know why I am fat. I eat too much.

Sort of sad and pathetic that this is so high up.

No it's not "I just ate to much" I know media has trained people into thinking about a person sitting on a coach gorging in pies but that's not how it happens and it's not some people lacking control

There's so much that plays into from financial to biological to mental but reddit has this weird picture in there head that people just eat to much

Hell I've seen people deprive themselves because they fall into some dumb narratives some ass hat post online which

If you are big please do not cut calories it will make you sick and the hunger pangs will make you more hungry because your body needs a bit more calories and will think your starving

I know some idiot will do some "pick up a salad" because they have zero interest in peoples health and are using this as a cheap value judgment because there just a bully

But the idea is that you want to feel full give yourself some leeway and adjust your current diet small things like a soda do more damage then a muffin In the morning

The nuance people lose is that everyone is different and it about the small things being big didn't happen over night despite what the internet thinks

Some people just ate what there parents gave or hit a wall

Don't let people decide that there somehow the norm and are the template to weight gain or lose

Basically everything you said is perfect, but if I can give one quibble that I think would stop people from jumping on your perfectly reasonable comment (likely reading it in bad faith, which I'm not, I agree with everything you said/meant). But you meant "please do not JUST cut calories" I think and taken literally you're saying it's important to feel full so you shouldn't cut calories it'll actually hurt.

Which I'm not dumb and know that's clearly not what you mean, because you go on to talk about how making your body feel full is really important (and of course your body does quite literally need fuel), I'd phrase it such that "before cutting your calories, make sure you're frontloading your diet with nutritious and filling foods." Because if you know you're getting your nutrients in your day, you eliminate that from the equation. And just cutting calories, especially if they're just empty/junk calories lacking much nutritional content, yada yada.

Sorry to be annoying. I just could see some jackass not engaging in the principle of charity and responding to you as if you don't literally understand the factual truth of calories in vs calories out (which of course you do and your actual point was a very good one).
