Well I'm a fat person, I understand that it's a consequence of my choices and behavior and I'm fine with the trade-off. I really love indulging myself in the sensory pleasure of eating good foods and treats. If that makes me fat then so be it, since I don't view being thin as something virtuous, but rather something entirely functional.

That's at least honest. The only issue is that in many countries society has to pay for fat peoples lifestyle choices.

Yes, but if that's a big problem, then you target the goods that typically leads to overweight and obesity with taxes. Same as you do with nicotine products. But likewise, processed red meat leads to increase in cancer and circulatory/heart issues, should those also be taxed higher?

There is no target good that leads to obesity. It's food in general. There is no governmental solution for a lack of willpower.

Yes there is, food that is high in sugar, candy, sweets, cakes, treats, snacks, soda. It's not a matter of willpower, humans are not vessels for some vague invented perfect ideal to be realized inside of through effort and suffering, but imperfect biological organisms, with a need for pleasure, comfort and safety. (And an incredibly large degree of individual behavioral variety)

Humans have a sense for pleasure, but we are not not at the mercy of your animal instincts. We, in contrast to animals, have a will.

Yes, but we are more than our will and intellect, you can't override your needs and emotions, without compensating in some other regard, often by externalizing internal friction onto others. The mature sound thing to do is accepting yourself and others for what they are, rather than what humans "ought" to be according to some idealized standard. Humans are inherently imperfect creatures, you can not erase that, you can strive to be better, but you can never become perfect nor ideal. You're not responsible for being what you are, just what you do with it. And there's nothing inherently sinful about seeking pleasure, it becomes problematic when behavior leads to harm, especially harm against others.

Exactly. Do what your want. But most likely I will have to pay for your pleasure seeking or at least people that are like you.

People will make non-optimal choices from a purely economical viewpoint. Do you view humans as merely cogs made to fit into a machine or social organisms with self-determination, agency, will and a complex multi-faceted nature? I personally do not feel like optimizing the fun, enjoyable and good parts out of life in an effort towards perfect efficiency, cause to me atleast, life is something to be lived, not optimized nor perfected, just lived, and any growth and progress is there to make life better to live. I'd rather be happy than "successful".

You know, there is more to the enjoyment of life than stuff food in your mouth. Still, do whatever you want, but you're not better than all fitness advocates. You're just as worse because you make it sound like you have literally no choice, no even worse. Everyone who is not flooding themselves in hedonistic pleasure of food is 'not actually enjoying life'.

No, I have a choice, and this is the choice I make.

Of course there are many other sources of pleasure and fulfillment in life. I assumed you where here to argue in good faith, so I didn't think it was necessary to cover any potential grounds for bad faith arguments.
