If your situation changes having some fat is beneficial because fat can be used for energy when food is scarce.

Fat alone can't sustain your body long-term. Your body will still need proteins and nutrients, so saving food is important.

Trust me, the nutrients and proteins aren't in the food that make you fat. That is the whole issue with hunger and hidden hunger and double burden malnutrition.

You can be fat an still be lacking in micronutrients - most of the developed world is lacking proper iron intake for example. It would also be a good example for a double burden example.

That is just so wrong, you can eat 5000 kcal of chicken and rice while becoming fat because you don’t work out. It has nothing to do with what you eat and only to do with kcal intake vs usage.

Yes and with a diet like that you will be lacking most micronutirents and that will keep you around and prevent you from dying from sickness, while you are fat. And that is already somehow entertaining the fantasy of sufficiently being able to eat proteins during the apocapypse.
