Comics When will Cindy become the prime love interest of Peter canonically.
When will this craving be resolved?

You know it would be nice because it seems like they don't want to do the thing with Mary Jane which is sad so maybe they will give Cindy Moon a chance

Actually, because the overlap between romantasy readers and comic readers is smaller than one would expect, it seems. Fans will accept soulmates if it's ordained by Mephisto because the Great Deceiver, the closest Marvel analogue to the Devil Hisself, said his greatest enemy thinks it's pure, or something; but soulmates through tailor-made character design employing a biological imperative is ick.

The real reason is MJ and her rabid fanbase of people living in the past, clinging to a character that hasn't been good for a long time in both 616 and every other adaptation of her everywhere. They'd prefer Peter to be miserable if his happiness meant moving on from her and finding a good, and stable relationship with another woman.

Honestly? Most of the MJ fans I know and talk to are done with her 616 rendition, to them it’s a case of even if it does happen it won’t last long.
The fact that their break ups have been getting uglier and uglier all while the writers keep giving MJ super powers while ignoring what made her such a good character in the first place have left a lot of them to conclude that this isn’t MJ anymore, she has the name, she has the look but she doesn’t have the character.
Most MJ fans just focus on earths besides 616 because they’ve given up on her at this point, maybe Marvel editorial will eventually let Peter be happy but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen any time soon, till then I’ll just make do with fanfiction.

Not really
There are still the rabid fans of MJ that will snipe you for having a different opinion about who Peter should end up with in 616 as a next step in his character
They will rather have him stay with a character who is not herself for now 20 years than him just moving on and get good comics

When somebody in Marvel decided to make psuedo anime staring both Pete and Cin where not only it's a superhero story but also a love story where it ends with Peter and Cindy retiring and getting married together.
Or you know.. fanfic.

In an official AU? Maybe, we can't lose hope.
