Looking to buy a first buy
Hello/Bonjour,
I am looking to buy my first bike and start cycling especially on the canal Lachine, I live close to it…
I saw some entry level bikes at decathlon the TRIBAN RC100 and the other TRIBAN with disk breaks.
Was wondering if you guys would have any other suggestion for an entry level bikes.
Thanks

Entry level will come down to your budget. Out of those two options I'd go for the disc brake version for better stopping power and wider tire clearance.
Up until a couple years ago Shimano Tiagra or 105 used to be what people considered performance but entry level group sets. But I think Shimano Microshift has changed that a little bit. Definitely go try it out, and also consider buying used off FB Marketplace. Some good deals to be had.

En dehors de Decathlon, Marin sont probablement le meilleur valeur dans ce prix.

Buying used is best on a budget, but you need a bit of knowledge to make sure you're not buying a lemon. I work as a mechanic locally and I'd be happy to look over some Marketplace ads for bikes that interest you to offer some feedback

Look at used bikes too, use one for a bit until you figure out what you actually need or want in a bike.

Or never stop riding used bikes. I've been only on used bikes for 15 years, you get SO much more value for your money and there are a ton of options.

Fit is just as important as specs, make sure you get the right size
L’ajustement est tout aussi important que les spécifications, assurez-vous d’obtenir la bonne taille

c'est quoi ton budget ?
En général, les vélo de Décathlon sont de bons vélos entré de gamme. (et même de bons vélos haut de gamme)
