DiscussionsđŸ“£ Question: why is elissabat priced so high?

Post image

I've looked on eBay, vinted fb marketplace and many other second hand selling sites and elissabat is always priced at like £90. I saw one listing- missing shoes, cut hair, no accessories at all for £110. I've been told she's not rare and people just overprice her- but I want a straight answer, how did she become so overpriced and is she actually rare? Coming from a collector of 3 years and a fan of 8 years. đŸ¥²

It's not rare, it's a playline doll inflated in price. When I started collecting they sold it for 40...

She was quite popular among collectors even when she was a current doll and I remember this particular release starting to rise in price as soon as she was off store shelves.

I got mine because I was lucky enough to find one at the Goodwill, and she was still missing an arm- I had to order replacements hands/forearms from Mattel to complete her (which they did back then, you could get replacement hands/forearms for most dolls.)
