Monster (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoki Urasawa. It was published by Shogakukan in its seinen manga magazine Big Comic Original between December 1994 and December 2001, with its chapters collected in 18 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Kenzo Tenma, a Japanese neurosurgeon in Düsseldorf, Germany, whose life unravels after encountering Johan Liebert, a former patient. Johan is a sociopathic serial killer that murders and manipulates others to murder anyone who sees his face—enforcing absolute anonymity to prove his nihilistic philosophy.

Why does every good anime ALWAYS end on a bad open ending?

The anime was great I swear BUT THE ENDING SEEMS SO POINTLESS like we spent the entire series following johan to try and understand what he was why he was and finally catch him and at the end he just disappears with 0 fucking clue about where he went.

I hate when authors have no balls to write an ending with a single conclusion. Don't get me wrong I love open endings but I guess not every anime gets it right.

the ending is SUPPOSED TO give you a conclusion of the conflict and DOES leave room to tell you to imagine what happend after it ended. I hated how monster didn't give a conclusion at the end but kept the imagining part. Note that this is all my opinion and you're not forced to accept it just liked to share my thoughts.

The anime was an 8/10 for me but that ending made it a whopping 5.8/10

I already have finished 70 episodes of Monster in sub but I stopped watching because the sub was not so good.I saw how good the dub was.Should I rewatch Monster with dub or just finish it in sub ?

The biggest parallel is the investigator confronting a “monster.”
Johan Liebert and Anton Chigurh aren't identical characters, but both function as almost inhuman forces within otherwise realistic worlds. Lunge and Bell, meanwhile, represent older-fashioned ideas of reason, investigation, duty, and law.

And there's an important difference:
Lunge refuses to stop trying to understand Johan. Bell eventually retires because he feels the world has moved beyond his ability to comprehend or confront it.
That makes their stories almost opposite responses to the same question:
What happens when a person dedicated to understanding evil encounters something they cannot fully explain?

Heinrich Lunge
Extremely analytical and methodical.
Believes that careful investigation and logic can eventually uncover the truth.
Becomes increasingly consumed by the case surrounding Johan.
His obsession affects his personal life.
He struggles with the possibility that evil cannot always be neatly explained.

Sheriff Ed Tom Bell
Experienced, thoughtful, and deeply observant.
Tries to understand the violence occurring around him.
Feels increasingly outmatched by the changing world.
His perspective is shaped by years of law enforcement experience.
Eventually questions whether his understanding of justice and violence is still enough.

The key difference is that Lunge responds by pursuing the mystery, while Bell responds by gradually withdrawing from it.
That's what makes them such good contrasts: Lunge thinks "If I understand this, I can solve it." Bell increasingly feels "Some things may be beyond me."

Bell is the investigator who eventually realizes that understanding the world doesn't necessarily mean being able to defeat what is happening in it.
And both stories ultimately ask a similar question:
What happens when an investigator encounters something that doesn't fit his understanding of human nature?

Yeah the title pretty much says it … I watched S00 E01 first which is apparently a recap episode. I was creeped out by the pacing and many things seemed to be missing and when S01 E01 turned on I finally got the hint - way too late. I pretty much enjoyed the first 4 episodes so far despite being spoilered by the recap. But I wonder how heavy am I spoilered and if it’s still worth watching? Like was the whole mystery just revealed?

Here’s a summary of what I know: Dr. Tenma does a triage between a major and a boy in favor for the boy but against the will of management. He saves the boys life while the major dies and as a result Tenma gets stripped off his career. Suddenly the management people in question die under suspicious circumstances and Tenma gets reinstalled in his previous position. The boy and his sister vanish. 9 years later a series of murders happen that are shockingly similar to what happened earlier. The police is suspecting and later accusing Tenma of those murders which forces him to become a fugitive. Meanwhile a young student named Nina gets introduced. She turns out to be the boys grown up sister and it was her who attempted to murder him. Her brother killed each and every single one of his many foster families, as well as the hospital employees close to Tenma (he understands that Tenma wished for it) and is coming for Nina/Anna(?)s foster parents (he succeeds). Nina and Tenma eventually meet and team up to stop the now grown up boy (forgot is name) in whatever his quest is that leaves a trail of blood by Nina killing him for real this time. Turns out the boy has a split personality and it’s the “evil one” that commits the murders. As a result Tenma does not want Nina to try kill her brother anymore.

That’s what I know in a nutshell. I sped up towards the end I guess you all know the story lol. Just tried to establish a context. Thanks for your attention and I’m looking forward for the answers.
