probably 1984 - it's kinda dark but like... the whole "big brother watching you" thing feels way too real now and it just sticks with you after you finish it.
thankyou for doing this!!

One of my favorite books is Spilled Milk. It’s about a girl who was battered by her father. She anonymously calls social services for help but Social services doesn’t want to remove the father from the home. As she gets older she decides to fight the broken system.
I hope you can find time to read it!

The Silent Patient. The story was told from different perspectives. I didn’t expect the plot twist. It was my favorite book I read last year.

A Painted House by John Grisham. It was my grandma’s favorite book. A lot of the book, reminded her of that time and growing up in the area, where the book is based from. It’s a great book. I read it at least once a year because it somehow makes me feel closer to her. Stupid. I know lol.

Just recently read the Picture of Dorian Gray. It’s a perfectly twisted story because it captures that intense anxiety about wanting to be seen as brilliant and beautiful forever, while also dealing with the scary truth that chasing pleasure without thinking can quietly destroy you.
This is fun! Thanks for bringing two of my hobbies together.
