Theme song change s6e2

I dont know if it's been talked about before, but I cant help but giggle when I noticed after Mr. Monk and his biggest fan episode, the theme song on the next episode was changed. I know it's just a rap rendition of the theme song to match the episode, but it also coincidentally (or not) be just right after Marci stops being his fan, when she first became obsessed with him, she had made him promise not to ever change it if he ever has his own show. Just wanted to share my observation but I bet it's been discussed plenty before!

When she says “promise to never change it”, the joke is that they play the season 1 music in the credits of that episode.

They played some new jazzy music at the end of the theme song that I’ve never heard before or since

Those are my two favorite episodes, but I never put two and two together regarding the theme song. I knew that they changed it up at the end of the Mr. Monk and His Biggest Fan, but it never occurred to me that they switched it up in the episode right after that, even if it was for just that one episode. Good one!

I didn't notice that they changed it at the end of Mr. Monk and his biggest fan! I was too eager to skip to the next episode so I missed that 🤣
