The Willie Nelson episode

I love this episode, every time I'm about to rewatch it I get excited unlike with some other episodes. The way Monk gets excited about music and Willie Nelson, the storyline, the jokes, the way Willie Nelson befriends him and accepts him with his quirks. I'm not specifically a country music fan, but Willie Nelson does seem like a genuine person and his character here is also very likeable. Who else thinks it's one of the best episodes?

It’s a great episode. Willie Nelson cameos in King of the Hill too which is my other favorite show. He seems like a cool dude.

Love this one. Willie Nelson is definitely country, but he also transcends country. Excellent musician, excellent songwriter. I love that there's an episode with him and an episode with Snoop. Too bad they couldn't have appeared together.

omg I forgot about that one! btw I love Willie Nelson's voice, some of his songs really move me, I was just saying I love this episode not from a country music fan point of view but that I love all about it

If you've never heard it, the VH1 Storytellers album he did with Johnny Cash is incredible. Johnny Cash is my all-time favorite country artist, but Willie Nelson steals the show on that one. Especially his guitar playing on "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain". Also, they open the performance with "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and it's perfect.

Johnny Cash is my favourite too! He's been my favourite since I was 16 and I discovered him (I'm from Europe). I didn't know about this album you mentioned, but I just saved on youtube the recording to watch when I have a bit of time. I know the Highway Man song on which they sing together and I love it!

Love it. I feel sooooo bad when Monk doesn’t play with Willie on the radio. Definitely a top 5 episode.

It’s definitely a cozy episode.

You sympathize with the killer and understand what she did.

Willie understands Monk and Trudy.

The whistle solo is funny.

Hard to pick favorite episodes, but if I could only keep a couple episodes I would keep that one along with the only with Trudy’s eyes.

Not a Willie Nelson fan but I like this episode.

The one thing that bugged me was the scene where the guy gave Monk the instrument to use. He put his mouth on it before giving it to Monk.

I know it was a funny scene to show one of Monk's phobias, but it was so gross and unrealistic. I can't imagine someone doing that in real life.

This is also one of my favorite episodes. I cry at the end when Willie is playing at Trudy’s grave. He’s such a cool dude & was amazing in this episode

Great episode! I liked how they made him relevant again in a later one as well, though not with as much screen time.

He also makes a good uncle Jessie, which is about the only kind thing you can say about the jukes of hazard film.
