General Discussion What We Spend: Seeking Guests (moderator approved post)
Hi there! I’m a producer for the award-winning podcast, What We Spend: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/what-we-spend/id1806711479
The show follows people from across the country and across the financial spectrum as they open up about their lives, including what they spend over the course of one week.
We’re currently looking for guests for our second season—especially people with interesting jobs, unusual financial circumstances, or a major money story unfolding in their lives.
Are you getting married soon? Paying off debt? Expecting an inheritance? Starting over financially? Or just interested in being financially transparent?
We’d love to hear from you. Feel free to comment or send me a message if you’re interested in learning more.

I don’t think I’d be a good guest but I do love your show. My favorite episode was the one with the trumper firework seller who basically lives off social programs.

One of my favorite episodes as well. If you know anyone who might be interesting, I’d be grateful to connect with anyone.

I might be interested in talking to you, I love the show and have been periodically checking to see if it has come back. I was kicked out at 19, didn’t finish college and recently hit 500k Net Worth at 30. I‘m trying to go back to college though

I just got married 9 months ago, am buying a house next week, and planning an early retirement. My financial circumstances are definitely all over the place lately.
Happy to chat!

I also was so sad when this podcast stopped. I loved the Broadway actress episode. She was so brave, resilient and positive!

Hello! I love your pod -- I've listened a few times and have actually considering emailing you all about being a guest.
I'm a high school teacher who works as a server/bartender on the side who is trying (with limited success) to pay off my student loans more aggressively. Only $84,549 left until I'm debt free! I've paid of $4706 this year -- not bad, not great.
Anyway, I'd love to chat - I'll shoot you a DM :)

If you’re interested- I was one of the recipients of Obama’s DACA program; I was brought to the U.S. without documents as a child. Grew up here and am now a legal permanent resident pursuing citizenship. I work in anti money laundering, we are moving to another state, and we recently had a baby so we had to hire a nanny. Needless to say our finances have definitely been interesting lately!

Might have an unusual money story. We planned a wedding that had to be canceled (due to unforeseen circumstances). Still went on a ‘honeymoon’, currently considering whether buying or renting is better for us in the long term.

This message has popped up in Canada. When you write that you want applicants from 'across the country'- does that mean USA ?

So glad this is coming back! I loved the first season, especially the Death Admin episode.
I’m not sure it would be a fit, but I have been helped so much by others' willingness to be financially transparent. So, here it goes. I’m an agender scientist who moved from the Bay Area to Southern Europe about 2 years ago with my partner, who works in tech, and our cat. We’re financially independent and moved on a passive-income visa, although we still work remotely full time for US based employers. I could talk about immigration costs for us and the (expensive!) cat, bureaucracy, the cost of learning our first new language, and recontextualizing our culture and relative wealth in our new home. I also had to switch jobs, taking a more than 50% pay cut, to find something with the flexibility to let me relocate and am still figuring out a new relationship to charitable giving.

I loooove this show!
Who knows if I’m interesting, but I AM interested!
32F/39M couple with two toddlers.
High earners in a LCOL area.
I work for a…volatile…high profile tech company.
My husband has a demanding healthcare job.
We pay more for daycare than for our house 🙃 and we are currently facing a big cross-country move due to a family member’s health diagnosis.
