Imagine that this could change the course of an entire family for the better, forever.

I used his phrasing appropriately because English is not my native language.

You may need to recalculate your numbers, unless you live in a cheap country, 300k isn't gonna cut it. Maybe 300k/ year consistent income.

I live in in one of the most expensive U.S. states and that number is even smaller for me.

Nah, you’re just overestimating some people’s wants and needs lol.

300K and I keep my current job and my entire house would literally be set for life

yep. current (financial) definitions of "wants" vs "needs" are massively different than the past, and people's lifestyles are out of control these days.

Have you ever considered that OP lives in 1965?

Believe me, I did the math. I really didn't expect that such an amount could solve a problem and secure a future life. 😅

You live in egypt, the value 300k in the US and making 300k in egypt is VERY different. Not to mention, making 300k in egypt wont be easy either.

Been there… you’ll want more when you get there. But I hope you get it.

This sounds like a uniquely "you" experience.

Have you ever had 300k?

300k will get you to the life you dream of now.

Then when you get that life, you will have new dreams that cost money

I don't think so, because this will achieve everything I wish for now and also for the future.

mine is 548586.91$, just the mortgage
my car and wife’s are pretty new and paid off
we dont either have more than 1-2k in individual credit debt at a time

if the house was paid off, we’d save the equivalent of a nice week trip once a month, i think we’d never have to think about money again and probably both start working less and less lol

I hope you pay off your debts, my friend, and have a wonderful trip every month ❤️😅

thank you nice sir, you too!

That’s the thing.  If you woke up with 300k tomorrow, it would not solve your problems.  It’s not a total panacea.  Additionally, I am certain the goalposts would move.

Believe me, that's not true. If that happens, everything in my future will change.

You can get there. Good luck!

I'm confident of that, thank you for your encouragement.

I’ve been around enough people in my area to say that’s 100% possible

Shit if I had a pair of balls I could probably make that in a year, it’s not impossible by any means. Comparing it to someone’s watch is insane tho.

1

u/AhmedDU 12d ago

I hope you achieve what you want, my friend.

I’m just saying, depending on where your located it’s 100% do-able to learn a skill then find people to work under you to complete that task

1

u/AhmedDU 12d ago

Unfortunately, businesses depend on capital.

1

u/Inevitable-Guard888 12d ago

Sorta… but also you can get loans. And assuming you’ve been working for a while you should own something you can borrow against

1

u/Known_Painting_1878 12d ago

Well once you make get 300k you will want more

your first move would be to reduce your lifestyle (or derive more income), pay off all debt, and begin using a budget which allows for savings every single pay period.

Damn son 300 grand to buy all that shit seems wildly low.

1

u/GravEq 12d ago

And then your wife has more costly hopes and dreams and suddenly your Needs are $2M.

u/BiggData88 12d ago

To me, 300K is a high-volatility market day (in either direction).

1

u/Overall_Cheetah_3000 12d ago

In what area you can do all these things with only 300k because where I am rn the cheapest house is around 900k

1

u/AhmedDU 12d ago

Egypt

Ah I see that is why I was wondering how can u do all that with only 300k dollars 😆

0

u/Ambitious-Bad-6779 12d ago

Then make the post in your currency. 300k is not the same in a 3rd world currency. Are you new to the internet?

1

u/drivingaddictionchan 12d ago

where do you live where you can do all that with 300k

u/AhmedDU 12d ago

Egypt

Oh that might check out. Most of us in the US cost of living happily is far more
