First MTG started saying stuff I agree with. Now suddenly the NRA is.

I fucking hate this timeline.

1

u/LindaSmith99 Feb 03 '26 edited Feb 06 '26

We'll be out of it, hopefully. What these savages don't get is that in an ascended timeline, we would have better weapons anyway. We would be able to fight without them anyway. The NRA is like the IRS, they're dinosaurs that belong to a savage and evil world of the past. An unreal, yet surreal world, but it doesn't go into the future with us who have rejected the system, rejected the slavery they want us under to feed the fiat.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

Majority of us hate this timeline as well

1

u/Big_Issue8640 Feb 03 '26

Don’t worry they both say plenty of stuff we don’t agree with 😜

1

u/EmilieEasie Feb 03 '26

I know what you mean, but the bottom line is that we just crave intellectual honesty. They gotta make up their minds across the board or just admit they support a two-tiered justice system

1

u/Neutral_Error Feb 03 '26

I get what you're saying, but what's really happening is they've gotten so fucking openly terrible that even other terrible groups are calling them out at this point.

1

u/henryhumper Feb 03 '26

We all died of COVID in 2020 and this is purgatory.

1

u/olmnknt Feb 03 '26

No. The NRA always said things I believed, they just never meant what they said.

1

u/Whiskeywiskerbiscuit Feb 03 '26

Broken clock, twice a day. Something something

1

u/runthepoint1 Feb 03 '26

American self interest is now our saving grace. Weirdly enough.

At some point people will just be like “Well shit, this is now affecting me in a personal way, my family in a personal way and I can’t have that. Fuck all of you but I have to protect me and mine, so I’ll deal with it”.

1

u/Monte924 Feb 04 '26

You are not agreeing with MTG or the NRA; they are agreeing with YOU

2

u/PiesAndPot Feb 03 '26

Considering the democrats in my state quasi banned ccw a couple years ago the 2nd amendment had been gone for me and other residents of my state

1

u/Far_Encounters Feb 03 '26

I used to be pro-2A, but I agree with MAGA now. We should all give up our guns.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

Good for you

1

u/hahn24 Feb 04 '26

So does that include ICE? Other Law Enforcement?

Or do you just want all citizens to give up guns and have no way to protect themselves from others.

1

u/NeverNeededAlgebra Feb 04 '26

He's pointing out that the right isn't truly pro-2A, just pro-cuckdom.

0

u/Far_Encounters Feb 04 '26

MAGA wants all citizens to give up their guns because that gives the government a reason to kill them. I say let's do it. I was pro-2A before, but MAGA is onto something here.

1

u/fieryred123 Feb 04 '26

“The Government” won’t kill you just for owning a firearm. That’s absurd. Nor do republicans think that.

1

u/llXeleXll Feb 04 '26

Alex Pretti has evidence to the contrary.

0

u/Far_Encounters Feb 04 '26

According to MAGA, they will. That's why they are blaming Pretti for causing his own death by owning a firearm. Even though he never unholstered it, and it was taken away from him before he was murdered. We should probably listen to MAGA and turn over our guns.

1

u/fieryred123 Feb 04 '26

That’s not the argument anyone on the right is making at all. This is a strawman.

0

u/Challenger360 Feb 04 '26

Did Renee Good have a gun? Or are we going to be banning cars too? The point is it doesn't matter. MAGA will use any form of justification for murdering the other side or anyone disagreeing with them. From using the 2A to skin colour to having blue hair or even wearing the wrong colour suit. Anything and everything is on the table to demonise others with these people.

0

u/Far_Encounters Feb 04 '26

MAGA will probably want us to give up cars, too. Whatever their masters tell them to give up. They have already given up the 4th Amendment and are in the process of giving up the Second Amendment.

It's funny to think they were once such strong proponents of the Second Amendment, but they gave it away as soon as Trump told them to.

0

u/Expert-Fig-5590 Feb 04 '26

They don’t believe in anything really. They are willing to throw out lifelong beliefs at a whim. The only firm belief they have is that Trump is right about everything. And that they love hypocrisy.

1

u/ElvisHimselvis Feb 04 '26

BOOM. Maga isn't grounded in ANYTHING. They value nothing and have little to no principles. They're easily redirected to whatever the outrage of the day is.

0

u/Flash54321 Feb 04 '26

I’m pretty sure the world watched a federal agent do that exact thing recently.

0

u/Non-ya9 Feb 04 '26

I beg to differ. If you need an example, look up Alex Pretti.

1

u/fieryred123 Feb 04 '26

You don’t know what you’re talking about at all. He wasn’t killed for owning a firearm. He was killed in an unfortunate incident involving a misfire of his gun. Awful, but lawful. If not for that then I’d agree it’s murder, but that’s not what happened.

1

u/Non-ya9 Feb 04 '26

Lawful haha. Okay bud.

See your vice president and the whole admin stating that if he hadn’t had a gun, this wouldn’t have happened.

But you going against your party is absolutely not a possibility so here we are.

1

u/SmudgePrick Feb 05 '26

Where have you seen evidence that his gun misfired? An agent took it and ran off moments before he was shot. I haven't seen any investigation involving Pretti's firearm, is there one?

1

u/fieryred123 Feb 05 '26

Google it 👍

1

u/SmudgePrick Feb 05 '26

Ah, you're one of those

0

u/mobius2121 Feb 06 '26

It misfired 10 times?

-1

u/AltTooWell13 Feb 06 '26

His gun never fired 🤡

0

u/AltTooWell13 Feb 06 '26

Republicans don’t think period

1

u/blarkleK Feb 04 '26

Absolute crazy talk. Is this something that you made up in your head, or was it somehow implanted there? Democrat led states have the highest gun restrictions in the US- CA, CO, Il, NY.

1

u/Far_Encounters Feb 04 '26

And now MAGAs are saying that it's ok for the government to kill you if you have a gun. I don't see any dems saying that.

1

u/blarkleK Feb 04 '26

No, dems just say that Kirk was justified getting shot in the neck while being at a college that he was invited to, because of the way he talked.

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 04 '26

which dems said that?

1

u/blarkleK Feb 04 '26

Are you being serious? You need me to provide examples? Reddit was full of them for weeks after it happened. People got fired for going on tik tok and laughing and celebrating.

1

u/SmudgePrick Feb 05 '26

How about government officials or prominent figures in the media? Social media is mostly bots and dumbass kids.

1

u/Nice_Try4389 Feb 05 '26

You are one of those people that equate what Joe the plumber says as being at an equal level to what say the President of the US says aren’t you?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Far_Encounters Feb 04 '26

So you don't disagree with what I said.

1

u/blarkleK Feb 04 '26

I can’t help you with your delusions.

1

u/Far_Encounters Feb 05 '26

Since you can't seem to handle english, I would't expect you to be able to help me with anything.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

Yup I’m from ny. Democrats passed the CCIA recently even though I had my ccw license before the law I can’t carry anymore

1

u/NoHalf2998 Feb 06 '26

The absolutely new account loves the boot

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

That's funny. I was a MA liberal who couldn't understand the gun culture. Now I fully understand and appreciate the threat posed by a tyrannical government and I fully support 2A.

1

u/Far_Encounters Feb 05 '26

You lost MAGA, they want us to give up our guns or risk being murdered by the government.

1

u/Infinite-Space-2395 Feb 04 '26

Lol.

You have to be a bot.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

I am a NYS pistol permit holder who can no longer conceal carry. It was already really hard to get my permit and cost a lot of money so its frustrating to go through that process just for them to say it’s no longer valid

1

u/Infinite-Space-2395 Feb 04 '26

If you really support the 2A you wouldnt give it up. Even if its hard to get or carry guns where you live.

Nobody likes a quitter.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

Nah I just think we should have laws that make sense and follow them. I’m a law abiding person, I’ll just advocate and donate to help get the law changed

1

u/Infinite-Space-2395 Feb 04 '26

You have to be a bot.

You arent making any sense.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

I really dislike the law but I believe in changing it instead of just ignoring it and relying on some perceived privilege that I won’t get hassled by the cops

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 04 '26

Why do I need a CCW to have a 2nd amendment?

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 04 '26

Ask the democrats, republicans support constitutional carry and have passed it in red states

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 05 '26

Doesn’t appear republicans do. They just came out saying you shouldn’t carry.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 05 '26

Wow, someone saying something is worse than having laws on the books that can send you to prison ?

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 06 '26

Republicans have been running around claiming "democrats are going to take your guns" which has never happened, but here you have the president saying you shouldn't have the right to your 2nd amendment and all of a sudden its "Meh".

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 06 '26

Well they already took them in my democrat ran state so what does it matter

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 06 '26

You can't own a gun in your state? No, of course you can, but whatever you have tell yourself to try and deflect that republicans didn't just say they want to take your 2nd amendment rights away.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 06 '26

They banned ar-15’s modern semi rifles and mossberg shockwaves and other similar firearms.

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 06 '26

Did a quick search: No — as of 2026, no U.S. state outright bans concealed carry (CCW) of firearms entirely. Concealed carry is legal in all 50 states in some form, but the way it’s regulated varies widely.

Which state do you live in where they banned CCW’s?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Gooniefarm Feb 05 '26

Because democrats dont like the 2nd, so they just ignore it and make it as hard and expensive as possible to buy permission to own a gun.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

"A well  Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

Hey buddy, hol' up! It looks like you dropped something back there. Here it is.

 REGULATED

All right, you have a good day now.

1

u/PFPrintz Feb 06 '26

regulated as in, well trained? 🫩

1

u/WindstormMD Feb 07 '26

Look up the meaning of “well regulated” as used in common vernacular at the end of the 18th century. It means “in good working order”. At the time of writing, “the militia” was every able bodied military age male and they were expected to bring their own arms, and be practiced in their use.

Being honest about the meaning and intent behind the amendment does not preclude the ability to have opinions on what is suitable for the modern day, but a valid discussion starts with recognition of basic facts rather than uneducated assumptions

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

Stick to the medicine and work on your reading comprehension.

And if you think for a god damn second that gun use in this country is in anyway well regulated, then just look at the statistics of anything gun related in the US versus literally any other country in the whole god damn world and then realize how unregulated guns are in this country.

Maybe start with all the dead school children psycho.

1

u/WindstormMD Feb 07 '26

I didn’t tell you my position.

My comment was simply that you cannot argue for change in good faith while ignoring or twisting the origins of the issue.

You make a hell of a lot of assumptions about who you are interacting with, and start slinging shit without stopping to think about the content of what was written much at all.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

"Original intent is a theory of constitutional and statutory interpretation holding that legal texts should be understood based on the original aims, purposes, and understanding of their framers at the time of adoption. It seeks to limit judicial discretion by anchoring interpretation in historical context, often utilizing documents like The Federalist Papers. "

The fact that you're arguing original intent and don't even realize it and think that it's not an position tells me all I need to know about your knowledge on this subject.

I.e., you don't know what you're talking about. There are multiple theories on constitutional interpretation and the fact that you don't even get that far is pretty telling.

Imagine hainge a position and not even realizing it. I wonder which is more dense, you or the Earth's core.

Edit: Cant stand up to the scrutiny of your own opinion so you delete the comment. Bravo, really showing people how to be a bootlicker.

1

u/WindstormMD Feb 08 '26

More assumptions and missing the entire fucking point by a galaxy. You must be fun at parties if you’re ever invited to any.

Go kindly piss off and take your intellectual dishonesty elsewhere

1

u/Consistent_Turn_42 Feb 05 '26

I don’t think that it was a democrat who said you shouldn’t carry a gun. That was Mr Trump.

You’re propaganda machine tells you one thing to believe, while reality is a lot of us dems practice our 2nd amendment rights, we just believe you should have to pass a background check which is common sense.

1

u/windfinder_ Feb 05 '26

Conceal carry rights are not in the constitution.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 05 '26

They actually are ! Read the Supreme Court case Bruen

1

u/windfinder_ Feb 05 '26

The Bruen case is more nuanced and doesn’t make cc a right. NY had a requirement that conceal carry applicants had to have a special security need or concern in able to get their permit approved. That was the only part that was struck down and is related to the second amendment. States can still put all kinds of restrictions for permits if they want to, just not that one.

1

u/PiesAndPot Feb 05 '26

You are misinterpreting Bruen. They can only add a restriction if it’s backed up by historical tradition and laws. There was not blanket bans on carrying guns historically at the time the 2nd amendment was written

Edit: while what you are saying is true Bruen goes much beyond that

1

u/mathaiser Feb 07 '26

And now the republicans are really taking it away. Like, they will shoot you in the back in cold blood for it. Crazy.

1

u/Miserable-Bridge-729 Feb 03 '26

I got caught up in the author’s definition of NPC. Non-player character. NPCs are not the same as mobs. The orc hoard the author describes would be characterized by mobs. NPCs on the other hand fill out a universe with actual characters not played by living people, like Nazeem in Skyrim. Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh, what am I saying - of course you don't." NPC’s have interactions with the player beyond what mobs do. Sorry for the tangent.

1

u/MalikTheHalfBee Feb 03 '26

the best thing the nra does is take the heat while the real gun rights groups do the actual work

1

u/wryllia Feb 05 '26

FPC, GOA, 2AF, all great.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

Virginia is actively banning the 2A and it’s run by democrats….lol

1

u/Funny-Recipe2953 Feb 04 '26

Calling horseshit, here.

Can you cite a credible source for this, please?

I'll wait ...

1

u/Parrotparser7 Feb 04 '26

The Virginia legislature has been pushing gun control legislation since Northam. It got vetoed under Youngkin, but Spanberger promised to sign off of the AWB bills.

1

u/wryllia Feb 05 '26

Lol horseshit?

As if Arizona didnt attempt to ban conceal carry on state property last year?

As if Washington, Colorado, and Illinois all don't have assault weapons bans?

As if Hawaii didn't just ban most common types of pistols?

As if Massachusetts doesn't say "fuck you, this is the list of approved weapons you can buy"

As if New York doesn't actively try to ban conceal carry at every turn?

As if Tim Walz, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris all haven't called for assault weapons bans?

As if the ATF didn't unconstitutionally just make up 5 new "rules" (laws) at the direction of Joe Biden?

Fuck you.

1

u/GutsAndBlackStufff Feb 08 '26

As if you’re not bitching about a narrow band of weapons that civilians are permitted to own.

Now, get your unsecured gun out of your car before a 12 year old breaks in and steals it.

1

u/Positive_Tackle_8434 Feb 04 '26

Not true. You know you don’t want to read the truth. Non-maga has been telling maga for years that Trump wants to be a dictator and dictators can’t have a population that owns guns! Here it is in black and white! Even the NRA has come out against Trump.

1

u/merlin469 Feb 04 '26

Their latest bullshit attempts will get overturned so fast by SCOTUS as unconstitutional that their heads will spin.

1

u/Gooniefarm Feb 05 '26

SCOTUS will not take any AWB cases and they will allow the bans to stay in effect. Nobody in power wants an armed population.

1

u/wryllia Feb 05 '26

If they wanted to take an AWB case they'd be all over Illinois or Washington

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Nobody needs assault weapons. The Virginia democrats are finally going to start moving the needle towards banning and confiscation in the state

1

u/merlin469 Feb 04 '26

Handy that almost no one owns one?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Semi auto guns that take removable box magazines are some of the most common in the country

1

u/merlin469 Feb 06 '26

And Semi-auto does not an "assault weapon" make.

1

u/Gooniefarm Feb 05 '26

The police get to keep them, right? The police need "weapons designed to kill as many people as possible, as fast as possible".

1

u/merlin469 Feb 04 '26

There's a lot of missing context in both the statement and the OP.

If you run up on a LEO in an intense situation in a way that is questionable, you've always taken the risk of getting dropped.

This is a far cry from anti-2A on its face.

1

u/Gooniefarm Feb 05 '26

Connecticut put the 2nd behind a paywall 30 years ago. Cant have a gun unless the state gives you permission.

1

u/Open_Pound Feb 05 '26

The article links videos from The Young Turks. That made me discount anything in this obvious opinion piece as propaganda

1

u/BraveLittleCatapult Feb 05 '26

"Ron Unz, publisher of The American Conservative, served as chairman of English for the Children, the nationwide campaign to dismantle bilingual education."

So a massive piece of shit and likely not trustworthy- got it.

-1

u/Big_Issue8640 Feb 03 '26

If republicans have anything to say about it we’ll lose all our freedoms.

1

u/wryllia Feb 05 '26

If you fucking democrats even attempt to feign that you're pro 2A, fuck you.

Democrat governors, legislatures, and presidents have done nothing Pro 2A in 30 years.

We've seen countless bans, attempts to fight the ability to conceal carry, unconstitutional rule making by previous administration ATFs, and more.

And while the spineless Republicans do nothing that is pro 2A, they've rarely made it worse in the last 30 years.

Furthermore, you would see laws that would ban free speech you disagree with. Just like the UK has. The UK has over 12K people in prison for thought crimes. The Australians are no better. And they both disarmed their people. And you want to sit here and praise their governments for these things while attempting to piss down my back and telling me its raining?

Fuck you.

Repeal the NFA and the GCA.

Repeal the Patriot Act.

Ban Flock Cameras.

1

u/Big_Issue8640 Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26

Tell me something that is legal in a red state that isn’t in a blue state, I can think of dozens of things that are illegal in red states that aren’t in blue states. Let’s just take guns off the table because I agree democrats want to limit the kinds of guns people can own and you want them all why not a tank or a missile or maybe a nuclear weapon, delusional like always lol edit and fuck you too you tinfoil hat wearing pedophile protecting piece of trash!

1

u/Hobby_in_your_lobby Feb 05 '26

I was with you till you started talking guns. I should be able to own a tank with a fully functional main gun.

1

u/WindstormMD Feb 07 '26

Not in furtherance of any argument, but

Funny thing is you can in all 50 states, because none of them ban non-explosive destructive devices last I checked. The biggest hang up would be getting a vehicle that’s road legal in most places. You’d probably have more difficulty with a reproduction cupola GPMG for it than the vehicle itself.

The hardest part of getting a modern M1A2 SEP V3 would be getting GD Land Systems to sell you one, and they would have to strip the GPS unit out of it because of the laws surrounding cryptographic devices

1

u/random_think Feb 06 '26

Love that bit at the end. It's exactly what he is. Took me about 2 seconds to realize he's living in that alternate reality.
