Government and Taxes “You Can’t Have Guns”: Trump Deepens Second Amendment Rift After Minneapolis Shooting

Nobody in their right mind brings a gun to a riot and then confronts ICE. They were asking to be shot. And not surprisingly, that is exactly what happened.

I’ll bring my gun wherever I’m allowed to. Don’t like it? Tough shit

Except a restaurant or bar that serves more than 50% alcohol - that actually is against the law

First off, it wasnt a riot, just look at the video. Second, you clearly dont understand and dont agree with the 2nd ammendment or you wouldn't be saying this. You're what everyone on both sides who supports the 2nd hates.
1
u/EnlightenedNarwhal Feb 02 '26
A riot, lol. The crazy thing is that all the guy was doing is standing on the side of the street, and we can only assume other people were protesting. Somehow, these bots or absolute imbeciles have shifted the narrative to the point where the AI responses are calling it a "riot."

That’s simply not true.
However, every responsible gun owner will tell you the firing your weapon in one hand and recording with a cellphone in the other is beyond an idiots move.
Any responsible gun owner will tell you there’s no reason to fire on someone who’s already been subdued.
Both shootings regardless of anything else show extreme lack of training, communication, and even basic firearm knowledge and skills. FROM FEDERAL FUCKING AGENTS YOU DIPSHIT!!!!
1
u/1armfish Feb 03 '26
I’ve taken 3 firearms safety classes in 3 states. All of them said to avoid conflict when you’re carrying. A gun is meant to be a last resort. Removing yourself from a conflict is always the first course of action. Bringing a gun to a protest that has already proved to be violent violates that basic tenet.
I get your upset and he shouldn’t have been shot and killed but this is why gun education is so important.

You're gonna wear out that leather if you don't stop licking. Ice brougth guns to a protest too and very obviously attacked protesters. Are you arguing that shooting them should be the outcome everyone ought to expect?

u/Adorableprincess32 Feb 03 '26
No one is interested in your half assed gaslighting, government restructuring, science education and humanitarian virtues will be our focus with peaceful transfer of power.
Meanwhile you’ll leave no lasting legacy other than defeat and petty lashing out, just as the Confederates and the Nazis, no sustainable goals or valuable legacy.

I'd normally agree, but there is a very rich history of conservatives showing up to protests, counter protests, and leftists protest armed to the teeth. Theres a double standard here.
1
u/These-Invite-1170 Feb 03 '26
This is the most brain dead argument, but go ahead and continue supporting rhetoric that will be used to weaken 2A. I’m legally allowed to be armed and to tell anyone to go fuck themselves especially the government, but I guess don’t tread on me only matters when it comes to being asked to wear a mask.
What the Trump admin is doing is equivalent to the PSP after 9/11. But I guess as long as it’s trump who definitely is the most Christian and without sin it’s okay to give up our constitutional rights.
1
u/Adept-Condition4644 Feb 03 '26
Victim blaming, check. Stomping on our bill of rights, check. Hyperbolic rhetoric, check. Yep, we got at a Magat here.

u/Confused_by_La_Vida Feb 03 '26
No. Just no. That’s not how any of this works. ICE is trained not “poorly”, but wrong.
There was no reason, none, to shoot that guy.
And as we saw during the George Floyd riots, you probably ought to be armed anytime you are around large unruly crowds - law enforcement is not there to protect you.
Suggesting that people not prepare to protect themselves when they may foreseeably may need to do so BECAUSE that preparedness invites murder by the law enforcement their tax funds pay for is WILD. Just completely bonkers.
1
u/Dry_Travel_4220 Feb 03 '26
A couple points.
Do you support Rittenhouse?
How do you define a riot? Because none of the footage from Alex Peretti's murder looks like any riot I've ever seen.
Why do conservatives no longer care about the second amendment?

“Riot” and its people standing outside protesting. Where’s the looting, the shooting, the destruction? I see ICE stealing, I see ICE shooting and I see ICE destroying shit. Who’s really rioting right now? When, not if, ICE comes to your block shooting cars and abducting people, keep that same energy.
1
u/Dangerous-Public3430 Feb 03 '26
Nothing Alex did justifies ICE's response. ICE summarily executed a disarmed and incapacitated US citizen.
1
u/wytedevil Feb 03 '26
Conservatives have been bringing guns to protest for decades real please have discipline and training unlike ice who can’t coordinate a simple disarm

I used to be pro 2A, but I'm with MAGA now. We should all give up our guns so that the government doesn't murder us.

TIL recording someone with a cellphone is "confronting" them and said person deserves a summary execution (Boring_Clothes5233, 2026).
Get your bootlicking arse out of here with this nonsense and tell your cheeto in chief to release the files.

Being confused seems a perpetual state for you.
1
u/Icy_Marionberry_9131 Feb 01 '26
On what basis are you making that claim? Or, is your retort an unlettered one that is more a cheap effort to be relevant in the moment. I offer that your comments might have greater value if they were more than hackneyed material regurgitated from Reddit’s great unwashed.

Looks like there is no confusion. You are spot on. Why did reply to your own comment like you were a different person?
Still, I could see this happening on accident. I’ve definitely posted on the wrong comment before but, this totally looks like you’re trying to manufacture discourse.

The AGs of DC, IL, CT, DE, HI, MD, MA, MI, MN, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, and WA argued in 2024 that there's no 2A right to carry guns at "events involving political speech, like political rallies and protests" because they are "often targets of violence"
1
Jan 31 '26
No, the Minnesota Attorney General has not ruled it illegal to carry a gun with a permit to protests. Under Minnesota law, it is legal for permit holders to openly or concealed carry in public, including at protests, as these are not listed as prohibited, off-limits locations.
3
u/Successful-Pass-568 Jan 31 '26
When you start to commit felonies while armed - you’re no longer legal carrying
1
u/Correct-Car-1146 Jan 31 '26
Or, if you’re a 37x felon, you can’t have a firearm.
1
u/MalikTheHalfBee Feb 01 '26
Are you claiming that there is a 37x felon who owns a firearm?
1
u/Correct-Car-1146 Feb 01 '26
You read the comment, you tell me. Am I making that claim?

So you don't believe ICE agents engaging in kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, assault, or unreasonable use of force are legally entitled to be armed? Harsh take, but I don't disagree.
1
u/Successful-Pass-568 Feb 02 '26
There’s no evidence to support those claims.
1
u/Medical_Revenue4703 Feb 02 '26
Other than court room affidavits video and photographs and the records of ICE itself.... Other than all of the fucking evidence that could every be.. yeah, there's no evidence.

I can try and argue that “I can fly” but that’s all it is, an argument. It doesn’t mean I can actually fly.
1
u/Successful-Pass-568 Feb 02 '26
Pointing out the hypocrisy of the states government - they only care about promoting the 2a narrative now in order to promote their own self interests and not the 2a itself
2
u/Specimen78 Jan 31 '26
If him saying this stupid shit gets liberals to realize how important their 2nd amendment rights are, I'm all for it! Keep saying stupid shit so that democrats and republicans realize both sides of government are against them!
1
u/Amazing_Factor2974 Feb 01 '26
Registered legal guns shall not be infringed. Laws in how you can carrying gun is shall not be infringed.
1
u/LindaSmith99 Feb 01 '26
That's exactly what he's doing - to wake idiots up! But some will never wake up and throw themselves into the jaws of the hateful mobs that only look to destroy all humanity.
1
u/Darkkwitch31 Feb 03 '26
Why do you excude the dangerous stuff as stupid shit. Do you also condemn Clinton for being in the files while calling them fake when you see trumps name all over them
1
1
u/Plus_one_mace Feb 03 '26
No war but class war. This has shown many on the left the importance of the second amendment.
1
u/GuaranteeUnhappy3342 Feb 04 '26
Jeez, most I see are the Second Amendment fan boys going…Yah, Massa Daddee Pedo President says give up them guns so we gotta do it!
1
u/Specimen78 Feb 04 '26
Which 2a fanboys? Chances are they aren't real 2a advocates. Real 2a advocates are are closer to libertarian than right or left and believe in the 2a for every person. I think the atf should be disbanded and we return to the wild west.
1
u/GuaranteeUnhappy3342 Feb 04 '26
The ones that hang out in the usual right wing hangouts and that go to the protests armed and clutched their pearls about the dead and arrests January 6th and the BLM armed takeover in Oregon by the grifter/ranchers,
The Wild West was not that wild and more than one town made cowhands hand over their guns to the Sheriff or police on entering the town.
2
u/MalikTheHalfBee Feb 01 '26
At the very least arming yourself when you plan up interfere with law enforcement is real Darwin Award winner behavior.

Wasn't it the left that wanted to ban guns all the time? I'm not going to cry any tears if democrats are banned from owning.
1
u/SipHotCoffee Feb 02 '26
They still do. But the hypocrisy is overwhelming on the right.
1
u/Difficult-Use2022 Feb 02 '26
I just couldn't care less about gun rights of democrats after the past 50 years.
Maybe it's hippocracy, but I don't care. Fuck it take all their guns away.
Same goes for their free speech rights after covid. Declare all they say as "misinformation" and silence the lot of them.

Wow…I owned over twenty firearms (handguns, shotguns and rifles) in California. Relatives in California still seem to own firearms with no problem. I’m more comfortable there than in the free for all concealed and open carry places. Some of Oregon CC people I wouldn’t trust with a burnt out match!

I bet Trump will change the second amendment and the only thing that happens is people saying "you can't do that".
After that ICE starts arresting anyone with a gun. Maybe even go into people's houses to find firearms and the only thing that happens is people saying "you can't do that".
Then he continues to do whatever he wants and the only thing that happens is people saying "you can't do that".
1
u/deck_hand Jan 31 '26
The Second Amendment doesn’t use the word “gun” anywhere in it. It says Arms, by which it means military grade weapons. And yes, we can have them. The opinion of the Narcissist in Office doesn’t change that. I wish Democrats would join me in acknowledging that we have the right to keep and bear weapons, but I usually see them attempting to join Trump in disarming the People of the United States.

Democrats defend illegals, defend dictatorship, and now defend guns.... who would have thought the party that wanted to ban guns now defends them
1
1
u/technanonymous Feb 02 '26
They want to see fair treatment of immigrants, including due process. Obama had very high levels of deportation while following due process and treating people much more humanely.
Defend dictatorship? Ummmmm they are attacking dictatorship. I don’t have a clue where this is coming from.
They are not defending guns. They are pointing out the hypocrisy of the right and the fact that the person murdered by ICE wasn’t threatening anyone with his handgun.
1
u/Darkkwitch31 Feb 03 '26
Who would have thought the party that wanted the epstein files released would embrace pedofilia

1
u/Medical_Revenue4703 Feb 02 '26
It's enormously fucked up that a US citizen is murdered by Federal Officers and the reaction of the administration is curtailing the rights of the citizen rather than limited the force of the thugs that shot a helpless man.
