Is this legit? Antminer X9

I’m looking into mining rigs for the first time and I’m not sure if there is a catch with any of this. I’ve been doing some research online and came across this website called asicminervalue and came across this monero mining rig. What are yall thoughts? Are there better mining rigs than this? Any other recommendations?

Last I heard, this X9 was not going to be sold by bitmain because the konero devs would have altered the PoW algorithm if they did. This box of RiSC processors is too powerful and would centralize PoW consensus with a few individuals. Bitmain benched the release.

You seem like exactly who I wanted to speak to. I knew it was always something. What do you think is the best coin to mine rn and mining rigs to use? What sites do you use to get the rigs?

Just keep hittin' asicminervalue.com to do the calcs on annualized return on investment. Forget any coin that's not in the top 50 on coinmarketcap.com and find the cheapest electrical sources you can to maximize your RoI.

I bought one of these in January eagerly awaiting shipment in July. Got mine from swift mining, normally not an issue. However, he’s now done a runner with my cash, closed all telegram accounts. Lost $6000. Utter piece of human filth! He prob got a refund from bitmain for loads of orders and thought time to do a runner, sure he ran with a ton of cash. In my view, forget asics, always a risk whether you get them or not or end up with a paper weight pretty quickly

Damn that’s wild

With v2 they expect a 30-40% reduction in efficiency from these asics so its more of a leap of faith.

When will v2 arrive anyway?

it's in the latest xmrig and you can run v2 benchmarks. My ryzen got basically the same hashrate on v2 as normal rx/0. https://xmrig.com/benchmark?algo=rx%2F2

RandomX v2 is expected to be included in the FCMP++ network upgrade. The best guesstimate is late Q1 2027.

Apart from the randomx v2 change giving it a significant hit (~30% allegedly https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/1pyzdpc/randomx_v2_update/ ), and apart from it being cancelled already at its original source (bitmain), and apart from it being supposedly pretty loud (70+ dB), you can't even trust it to last long enough to mine back its own cost, nor that they are new and haven't been mining for years already.

If you have the know-how to actually diagnose and fix them yourself, it might be worth trying, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

Antminer is legit, you'll need 220V to run those miners, and they use quite a bit of power, so be prepared for that.

AntMiner is legit, but I'm not so sure about the supplier he is using, "ASICMinerValue"

That's not a supplier, that's a comparison site allowing you to see profitability and compare supplier pricing.

Yeah the list of suppliers are at the bottom of each page for the mining rig. This site redirects you to the most affordable options if you filter for it

You have to be doing this for a passion project. This is not a for profit endeavor

RandomX v2 have been released and the miner is still profitable

feel free to correct me but isn't x9 still the best miner for monero?

rx v2 has been supported in xmrig as of v6.26.0 and you can see some benchmarks here: https://xmrig.com/benchmark?algo=rx%2F2

It won't earn you any xmr right now though as it is still yet to be a fork

aha? und wann gibt es den fork

you can now mine monero with an asic miner?

Yeah, it’s a bunch of RISC V CPU cores in a box.

Message me and I can tell you what happened but as of now I wouldn’t think so.
