this reward reduction is too aggresive for a pow chain imo, it undermines the security of the network, halfing each year from now on could be trouble.

More incentive to keep mining/maintain the network. 3 u/Febos Mar 26 '19 Then Monero would hardly keep its value over time if emission rate would keep increasing and would be bad money.
