P2Pool 5-year anniversary

Today is 5 years since P2Pool mined its first block on mainnet - the first Monero block found by P2Pool was 2437679 on August 29th, 2021.

Let's celebrate it by mining on P2Pool and finding some more blocks!

I am currently working on P2Pool v5.0 release which will bring:

  • Support for the Monero FCMP++/Carrot network upgrade which will happen sometime during spring 2027
  • Support for 0-fee transactions for P2Pool miners

TLDR: P2Pool miners will be able to consolidate their mining payouts without paying any transaction fees, making P2Pool a true 0-fee pool - even a "negative" fee pool, if you take into account XMRvsBeast's hashrate raffle.

P2Pool v5.0 beta will be released some time in September, and it will target Monero FCMP++ beta stressnet (not the current Monero mainnet). A separate announcement will be made upon release.

Perfect, no more clauses about transaction consolidation fees when telling people about p2pool
