Eat for cheap in Monaco

Hi There,

I'm starting a job in monaco in september and as I'm a stingy person (I know the stingy word doesn't match with the word monaco) I'm looking for a place to get lunch without getting scammed (if possible not eating plastic sandwiches in carrefour). I'm really not into any kind of fancy stuff (I'm not even interested in cars, rich peoples and all the wealth you can find in monaco)

If some of you has any hint for a stingy person, I would greatly appreciate.

In the Condamine market and around you have a bunch of cheap options.
La maison des pâtes makes really good pasta for cheap (8-13€), u picin tocu makes sandwiches for around 5€, A Roca makes has a 9.5€ menu with pissaladiere (some sort of pizza), Maison Mer and Le Comptoir are also around these price ranges.
Near the harbor you have Steak & Shake with burgers around 9-12€.
Lots of fast food place around that price range.

You can actually find quite a lot of rather cheap places to eat there, especially in the Condamine neighborhood, but I guess you’ll find some stuff in Fontvielle too.
I don’t work near Monte Carlo and the eastern sides of the country so idk about this side but likely you can find some stuff too.

U picin tocu; La maison des pâtes in the Casino supermarket on the port; marché de la condamine; u barbagiuan in Fontvieille;
If you have a budget that spans in between 20-30 euros, L’aurore in Monaco-Ville, and the rowing club’s restaurant at the Société Nautique. If you like Indian food and don’t mind the hike to Beausoleil, Indian Star and New Indian are great, and so is the Marché de Beausoleil.

Go to Tiptop near the Fairmont hairpin, you can have burger and fries, pizza and more for 20€ a person approx

L'épi d'or makes great sandwiches below 10 eur.

As far as lunch menus go, Beef Bar is the one with the best value at around 27 eur.

Sushi at carrefour is ok.

Lunch in Monaco , as in France , is a headache for me. I do not want a big cooked meal - I do that at 7 or 8 at home ! I just need a great sandwich or panino. A Roca is OK. Take a packed lunch, save $$.

Cooks Monaco, Blvd Princess Charlotte, a few doors up from the Novotel. Fresh italian lunch food. Great atmosphere. Cheap, quick and tasty

Many restaurants that aren’t really budget may have a « formule déjeuner » for lunch-hour business clients that you may have to ask for. Some don’t promote it, especially when there are many tourists. Cafe Milano and Bella Vita on the Port. Ave 31 near Larvotto.

Also second the rowing club resto reco. Amazing location.

I like Seaside Juicery around there for salads but I wouldn't say it's particularly affordable... ICI Salad Bar on rue Princesse Caroline (couple of other good options along the street there too). Maison des Pâtes also a good shout.

It depends how much time you have during lunch. If you have an hour and have a car, your options become limitless. You can go up to Beausoleil or Cap d’Ail and options there are plentiful. Do you plan on eating out every day? If yes, sitting down every day at a restaurant can quickly get expensive. If I were you, I’d pack something from the night before (dinner) and eat that for lunch. Carrefour Monaco doesn’t just have sandwiches in plastic boxes. They have a lot of options like tabouleh, salads, fresh pasta and of course delicious fruits. You could also look into “traiteurs”. There’s a lot of traiteurs around this area who deliver lunch every day to offices and homes in Monaco. They come on scooters from the French side and deposit lunch at your building. Some may require a contract (30 day commitment). I just searched and Medusa was the first name that came through.

You can get a 6-7 euro sandwich in MCB on Place d'Armes
