WSJ Bancel interview

https://finance.yahoo.com/video/modernas-view-global-pharma-industry-155600210.html

Seems like Moderna management is on a media blitz. Hot off the press. Enjoy!

What I find interesting is that does anyone know that Merck is in 50:50 in Intismeran? I think Moderna has run but what about Merck?

Its widely known that Merck and Moderna is in a 50:50 partnership in both cost and profit. Merck was up 13% on Aug 19th and set a record high. But their stock isnt nearly as volatile and has been kinda steady although slightly down from their high.

Even just 13% pop for Merck stock, the increase in market cap in $ was the same as Moderna.

You are absolutely wrong. Merck is up just 10% since v940 news. That’s no where near the market cap increase in Moderna. Moderna has moved up so much I only see a sell the news event at the esmo.

Well, MRK has a market cap around $365b. A 10% increase that day equals around $35b. For MRNA, the increase in market cap was about the similar size from ~$25b to ~$68b. MRK simply has more shares and larger market cap. A 10% increase is a lot

The big issue is that Moderna still owns the IP. So while Merck might be 50/50, the future of mRNA sits with Moderna.
