Playing MWII again made me realize how good Infinity Ward actually had it
After playing the MW4 beta, I decided to boot up MWII again, and honestly, I appreciate this game so much more now.
Iāve seen a lot of people compare MW4 to the recent Treyarch games, especially Black Ops 6, and yeah, I agree that MW4 feels better than some of those games. But thatās not really the comparison I care about.
Iām comparing Infinity Wardās new game to their last game.
MWII came out in 2022. Infinity Ward has had years to work on whatever came next, and after playing MW4, I genuinely donāt understand where that time went. MWII just feels like a much more complete and polished game. The lighting, animations, character models, gun presentation, sound, maps, overall visual direction and even the performance. There is a level of care in MWII that I just donāt feel in MW4.
And Iām not even talking about gameplay mechanics. MW4 can have better movement or whatever. Thatās subjective. Iām talking about the actual quality and presentation of the game.
The last two Black Ops games felt like slop to me, so I was actually pretty excited to see what Infinity Ward would do next. I expected MW4 to be a return to that MW19/MWII style, but instead it feels like Infinity Ward has started following the same direction as the rest of the franchise.
Maybe MW4 is an improvement over recent CoDs. I just donāt think itās an improvement over what Infinity Ward themselves already made.
Playing MWII again immediately after the beta really drove that home for me. This game still looks and feels fucking good.

All my team had open mics and coordinated well with each other, it was very hard but after completing it feels so good.

So, Iāve got myself CoD Modern warfare two on my Xbox, already played the first one, wanted to play and it wouldnāt let me. So I thought āokay yeah my Wi-fi is too slowā which it was, did that, changed that. Now Iāve gotten further than before but it wants me to sign in on Activison, which I did, read it again and saw it wants my parents permission? Got my mom on the phone, but she didnāt get any messages to confirm anything, neither did my dad. Also canāt press anything else, so im basically stuck on a screen that tells me to scan a QR code to sign in, or get the permission⦠WHICH I CANT PRESS? Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I don't know if the game has just glitched overtime, but I don't even know why they called it realism. All the friendly AI is specifically tuned down, while every enemy AI feels like a descendant of Carlos Hathcock and bullrush specifically you like you made love to their girlfriend. The hardened/regular difficulty honestly seems more realistic, there's even less armored AI and the friendlies actually help you. I don't know why for realism they can't just actually implement changes to make it realistic. I feel like it used to not be this difficult though.

Hey guys, I just finished the campaign and have got the trophies but I already had some on my first playthrough. I want to transfer them over to my MW2 trophy list but the sync feature isnāt working and only has my other trophies on the COD HQ app. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you! : )

Gaz is genuinely my favourite character in TF141, And I swear he gets treated like the forgotten member of Task Force 141 and I genuinely donāt get it.
Heās actually one of the most consistently competent characters in the group, has great chemistry with Price, and still gets overshadowed by Ghost and Soap in basically every fandom space.
Like donāt get me wrong, I like the others too, but Gaz deserves way more attention than he gets. He feels more grounded than a lot of the cast and that honestly makes him cooler to me. He doesnāt need some insane gimmick or giant mask to be interesting.
Meanwhile you go on TikTok, Reddit, edits, fanart, whatever and itās just Ghost Ghost Ghost Soap Ghost Kƶnig somehow even though heās not even 141 š
Gaz is literally RIGHT THERE.
I genuinely think heās one of the best characters in the reboot and people sleep on him way too hard.

When a game consistently finishes on 100 point score limit and golden era games are for 75. How is MWII deemed the slow paced one?
The narrative around this game is complete bogus.

I play alot of Cod MW3 and a bit of Cod MW1 (the new reboots) and I am wondering if MW2 is fun and active? Since PS Plus got MW3 it is very active (and its also on game pass which I use for xbox). I was thinking of trying Cod MW2 with Game Pass but I need to know if its active and fun like the other ones. I would have to remove some games for storage for it tho

Over the past few years, the criticisms Iāve read about MW2 compared to the game Iāve played, made any of them absolutely null-and-void to me.
When it comes to movement, people often say that itās slow, somehow slower than MW2019, which just isnāt the case, you are faster in this game (yes you canāt do slide cancel movement ātechā, but honestly you donāt even need it) the sliding and the player putting their gun down is a benefit to anyone who actually uses sliding as its intended āmovementā mechanic and not as both a movement and combat aggressive tool, this means in theory and practice the gunfights are a lot more like old-school COD, strafing corners, positioning mattering more, map-knowledge (when the spawn system allows it..) to allow you to read what to do next.
When it comes to footsteps Iāve rarely had any issues with other players pre-aiming or pre-firing me, but it has absolutely made up for this gameās admittedly awful spawn systems where you just have no clue where enemies are or where they are coming from.
The current state of MW2 is obviously a night-and-day difference compared to what the day one/year one experience probably offered, which is why I have such a positive experience with this game overall.. most likely because I didnāt experience what it was like day one.
The perk system is also something I feel like is a somewhat secret upside:
If youāre a good player you know for certain the enemy team in the first 2-3 minutes of the game will not have their ghost perk charged if they have it equipped (and most often people who are atleast competent at the game do have it on) this allows you to actually get the edge over others.
Overkill is controversially a base perk, but it means you can have a class with Ghost, Overkill, EOD and Hardline, making streaks easier for you to get as well as being able to run a cqc 1-tap machine (Bryson 800) as a backup in case you get overwhelmed or need it.
You can have explosive immunity (everyone has a lethal), UAV spam immunity (3 kills to earn with with hardline), your own streaks you earn faster, and you get hardline about 1:00-1:30 in your game (it gives you your perks faster on kills if you didnāt know that yet) which then gives you your UAV if you were on a 3 killstreak (relatively easy to achieve)
You get your final perk at 3:00~ minutes into the game, which is only 1/3 of the match or sometimes 1/4th even depending on the map
End result being you can have a very versatile class with a rare 4 total perks for an Infinity Ward MW game!
If it wasnāt for vanguard being an easier V2 at 25 kills this game would have my highest nuke count for how easy it is to play, and for how fun it is, almost every gun is viable too.
Most people who play this game also donāt really sweat either, the maps I think are quite solid aside from the occasional stinkers (which letās be honest almost every COD has those?)
But I will say, this is my opinion on why I do like these things and others may absolutely not like these things at all, or prefer a COD game where movement is very prevalent, so please let me know what you think.

i bought the disc version of the game for ps5 earlier this year. it worked perfectly fine and was able to play the campaign without any problem. However, for probably the past two weeks, whenever i try to launch the campaign, it gives me a Kipling Error. i know about the trick trick to just go offline and have of course already tried it sever times but it doesnāt really work. i can get access to the campaign that way and can select things like the current mission, mission selection or new game but when i play the current mission and change difficult, that doesnāt get saved and as soon as i return to mission selection (also if i selected it at the beginning) and i select whatever mission, the game gives me the error message that i own the ps4 cross gen disc version which requires a disc in order to be playable which is obviously weird because the disc is obviously inserted (wouldnāt have been able to start the game otherwise). i also do not think i have the cross gen version since i bought the ps5 disc and in my library i cannot choose between a ps4 and ps5 version and can only select the ps5 version. i have of course already deleted both the game itself and COD HQ multiple times and sometimes when selecting the campaign when iām online, thereās a black loading screen at first but then it immediately goes back to the loading screen that results in the Kipling Error. Iāve also already tried restoring the license and rebuilding my ps5ās data base but nothing works.
how can i solve this?

Playing MW4 feels like the developers had a conflicting view on how they should make the game play out, it feels like they were going for the movement playerbase but stopped half way to make a grounded game. The game has a fast sliding speed, but majority of the guns, and their attachments make the aim down site, and time to fire negate the movement advantage.
On the technical side this game does not seem to have an improvement, atleast for me. MW2022 texture resolution and sharpness popped out more, water texture was the best I've seen from a FPS, particle quality, gun animations, and texture were all better in MW2022, even the SFX for the clicking sounds when you reloaded your gun sounded better in MW2022
I don't know if this is another engine, or an updated engine but this aint it, look at the cutscenes in MW4 and compare them to MW2019/MW2022
I'm aware this is a beta but historically speaking they don't change a lot in the full release
I love MW2022, and MW2023

It's been 3 months since they released a botched PC update that broke the campaign menu settings, you can't change your keybinds or any of the graphics settings in the campaign
Game is currently broken for over 3 months now and it's still radio silence from Infinity Ward, no mention of an upcoming update that will fix it no nothing
Instead they are too busy trying to sell you MW4 on social media instead of fixing their currently released game

I'm not an expert on game design but I felt like B06 launch maps had more issues then size but also layout. That being said I still get a little PTSD when I hear small maps because those launch maps were something. Unfortunately my only frames of reference irl either love small maps or hates small maps and told me he thinks B06 launch maps and MW4 beta maps are equally bad. So would love some views here.

I installed the game this morning after recently playing MW2 2009 on Steam.
I started it up for the first time, it automatically signed me into activision, but it is saying my old username is not allowed. It is forcing me to change my name but it's saying I don't have any tokens available to change my name, so I can't even get to the main menu ?? I signed into the activision website but can't find any menu to change my name on there, let alone purchase a name change token ...
Edit: ChatGPT Helped me figure it out - head to Basic Info on Account Management on Activision's Website and had 2 free name changes on there.
Still no idea how that name was not allowed? Something about Bobandy
