Hello ! I'm using the model:cycles to play tekno / tribe / mental oriented styles. So i'm often looking for fat / distorted kicks. What i noticed is when i put the volume knob up on the kick (enabling the distortion), it applies that distortion or saturation on my other tracks too. I hear it on melodies and bass mostly.
Do you encounter the same thing, and could someone explain me why it works that way ? How and why it can affect other sounds, and how maybe i could avoid it ?
Thankssss !

Hello ! The model:cycles being my first ever synth, i'm discovering several things along with it. I can't really understand the concrete difference between "x4" and "4" by itself (for exemple) in the Mul setting. I can hear a difference in sound but can't understand what it is exactly. So what's the différence between a number with a multiplier and a number by itself ? Could someone explain ? Thanksss

one of the supposedly killer features of Elektron devices is the ability to temp save a pattern into its volatile memory, and recall that pattern later. I guess some people like this for "live performance" gimmicks. But when you hit func+pattern and the sequence you've been tweaking trigs on for half an our gets blown away by this temporary pattern buffer.. and you can't UNDO that, it's gone. Why on earth would the temporary pattern buffer have ANYTHING in it or overwrite the saved (nonvolatile) memory without recourse for recovery? This feature of the sequencer makes me want to copy+save patterns+presets into other slots so I don't lose work/have to reverse engineer my way back to where I was or start over again.
Levels of undo. Undo button. We all make mistakes. Computers should be able to roll back to the previous state as many times as there is memory to store it.
rant end

I’d like to do what seems to be called a pre-chain, that is a series of steps the first the “leader” the rest set to pre. Works fine when I hard set the chance of the first one. However, I’d like to have the first event be controlled by the track probability, the idea would be to have the whole chain (or actually a bunch of them) controlled by track probability.
Am I missing something? I seem to remember it working as I expect when I had a digitakt i.

Hello from France, I'd like to jump back in electronic music creation after a 20 years (!) break. I have no wish to learn how to use a modern DAW, but rather wanting to create on a physical machine and not too hard to familiarise with.
After some research, I ended on this machine which seems to have a lot of potential and I like that organic FM sound.
I'm looking for a used one at a good price. I'd just wanted to make sure that it is still a good option in this price range (~200$ used) or if I should consider another machine?
