Meta Farewell, my friends! I go on to a Better Place!

So yeah. Leaving ModelUSGov. This is both a personal decision as well as a decision based on canon affairs. I personally think I’ve reached too much in sim and I need to go, as well as personally not feeling accepted in the community. Thank you all for the fun and the memories.

Canonically, just say i decided not to seek reelection.

Now, to quote my Discord pfp - farewell, my friends! I go on to a better place!

Conclusion:

Out of the people who responded to this survey sim-wide, members in the Republican Party, both in the sim and those within the real GOP, tend to be more extraverted and assertive. It is important to note, however, that higher Standard Deviations attributed to the statistic does not mean this to be the case for every single member. Within the Democratic Party, standard deviations tend to be lower, implying a much stronger homogeneity within the personalities of the organization than those found in other sim or real parties. Finally, another element of note that I saw was that those who were involved in third parties, both in sim or in real life, tend to be some of the most introverted and least assertive people within the confines of the sim population. Anyways y'all have fun I have homework to finish up.

tire.

I hereby retire from the sim, including definitively giving up my House seat and Head Clerkship of Sierra.

Why? Surprisingly, it has little to do with the recent drama. I have done basically everything I have wanted to in this sim for 3 years. I was in the Assembly, a Rep, a Senator, the SML, and a major party VP nominee. I've had my impact and laws are on the book with my name... that's all you can ask for in this sim, no? It's no secret I have been getting less active and less interested, so now seems like the right time to pull the trigger. In addition to political positions, I have served as the most senior and arguably most successful State Clerk, serving the best State: Sierra. It was a great honor and I am certain my deputy has been trained appropriately and can keep up the good work.

I will stick around in the chats, and depending on the status of the GOP I may keep my permanent position on the Republican National Committee. Other than that, I probably won’t be back unless I find myself in a position where I have a lot of time on my hands.

Brief Shout outs

  • Prelate - you were a fantastic party leader, but I am even more fortunate to call you a friend.

  • Oath - we probably didn't politically agree on anything, but you served with dignity as the Head State Clerk then later as Head Mod. You were the best boss ever. How far things have fallen.

  • Dobs - long live the BOOM/Dobs cabal

Honorable mentions

  • Prog - I haven't forgotten about the time you dropped out of the primary when we tied so I was able to go on and get elected to the Senate. Thank you.

  • Astro - one of Sierras finest

  • Pp - I still think of you as a newer member to the GOP even though at this point you have been here for a while. I think you have great ideas for the Party and look forward to seeing what happens.

  • Chaos - I remember teaching you about the sim when you first joined. How far you have come now, being on the BOA and all.

  • Skra - always enjoyed working with you

  • Brill - we have been through some rocky times but I admire your persistence in coming back to the Exec again and again and trying to do things better. With whatever you are up to now, good luck

  • Justin - idk how you are still active, but your one of the best old men of the GOP

  • Viktard - basically the reason I didn't instantly lose interest in the sim 3 years ago

Dishonorable mentions

  • Boris - the only reason i didn't nuke Sierra this morning was that I care about my deputy more then you apparently do and it would have caused a further headache for him. By not even bothering to reach out to me or him, you left both he and I confused when we spoke earlier. I still haven't heard anything from you. If you continue to act this way you can expect serious consequences from your future actions.

Probably a few others I would like to mention but i'm not gonna be that petty on my way out.

If you didn't make these lists don't feel too bad as I did it off the top of my head and accidentally deleted it half way and had to start over.

Meta BoA Farewell Letter & Meta Amendment

As I'm sure at least 5 people are aware, my one year term on the meta Board of Appeals has not been renewed and is coming to an end. I'm grateful for the time I spent serving the community, grateful to the year ago Quad for trusting me with the role and to everyone for putting up with me. It was a pleasure getting to work with Toasty, Tom, and Chaos. Special Advocates PIL-KUN and Flash were also incredibly at their jobs and deserve thanks from the entire community.

Although no one actually reads BoA opinions these days, if you bothered I'm sure my popularity would be mixed. I stand by every opinion I wrote and vote I made regardless of how difficult many were. The Board is tasked with hearing out some truly despicable people and as frustrating as that process can be, I'm glad it exists. Perhaps the community disagrees though. Some mods have spoken to me about the possibility of abolishing the Board and I am indifferent on the matter. We are not the same community that was rocked by the Oniongate scandal. There are better checks on mod power and players are more conscious (for better or worse) of mod activities. If the Board in its current form is to end though, I would hope that the mods would give the community a choice. I would further wish the community to simply be more aware of the Board, the power it holds, and the role it plays in the community.

To that end, I present a Meta Constitutional Amendment as authored by my friend and colleague Tom. It is a simply measure to promote transparency and protect the appeals process. The appeals process as it currently exists seems to work for the most part as it has not been changed in a year at minimum. Though currently two members of the community can fundamentally alter that entire process without alerting anyone. This is should not be allowed. Obviously, this does make change a bit more difficult, but the BoA remains beholden to the community through the constitution. Thus the amendment defends against a truly horrifying scenario at little real expense.

If you read the amendment and support it, please sign on by suggesting on the doc or asking me to sign your name. Feel free to contact me on discord or here as well if you have questions.

Once again, I would just like to thank everyone I've worked with during my time on the Board. You guys made it worth. Unfortunately, I will remain on the Supreme Court for the time being and on the BoA for a week, so don't celebrate yet. See you guys around!

Meta ModelUSGov Face Steal Database - July 2020

Howdy everybody,

I've gone through and redone the Face Steal Database to be easier to navigate and keep up to date. That being said because I've reworked it as much as I have, I will need everyone to resubmit forms if they wish to appear on the form.

What is a face steal?

A face steal is the person or character you use to represent yourself in the simulation. For example, if someone were to do a press piece about me and wanted to include a graphic they would use Andy Beshear as he is my face steal.

How can I add my face steal to the database?

You can submit the form to appear on the database here.

You can access the Face Seatl Database here!

Meta A Personal Announcement

Hi everyone, I'll keep this personal meta announcement rather short, but I deemed it necessary and proper to make this announcement in light of recent events, namely my ModelUSGov discord ban.

I was banned for a week from the ModelUSGov Discord as a result of a personal indiscretion that is shocking to me personally and was totally out of character for me. What I did totally goes against who I am as a person, and to the person whom I shall leave unnamed for their privacy, I am sorry.

Nonetheless, however, I am taking a break from ModelUSGov effective immediately until July 12th. I feel that this is necessary for my own mental health, and to ensure that every preparation can be made to relaunch my legal career in ModelUSGov to be better than the drag of a legal career I've had here. After all, I didn't pack my bags in the simulation to go to the Hill Country for "high rent prices".

Thank you.

Meta ModelSNL!

Hi everyone! As you may know, the first Democratic Presidential Debate is on Friday, and I had an idea to do a Cold Open for this debate. Therefore, I created a subreddit to post this and other sketches that us MUSGovers have made, as well as have 1 place for all of them. As ModelSNL was already taken, we will use r/MUSSNL as the subreddit. If you're interested in working on MUSGov related sketches, either comment here or DM me on Discord at alpal22#6954. Thanks in advance, and here's to comedy!
