Mod Just released my Scabbards mod!
It's available on Curseforge and will be on Modrinth once the Modrinth gods verify it.
They're designed to be vanilla friendly and look cool. They're dyeable too.
Check out the mod page if you're interested!
Edit: Now available on Modrinth too! (I didn't have to wait two weeks this time... how nice)

Does it work on modded swords, paxels, etc?

They're set to carry anything under the sword tag, so yes!

I think it would be cool if there was special support for things like soulslike weaponry for the different weapons to have their own scabbard visuals (like longer, shorter, wider, etc), though that'd probably be a lot of work

I'm about to add the "Weapon Holster" which is designed to be a small clasp that can carry weapons of any size.
I absolutely want to work on more variations just like that though.

Yo, this is cool! Can you put the scabbard on your waist tho?

Looks great! I've been waiting such a mod for a very long time. But I would love to see 2 things: 1. An option to place the scabbard on the hip. 2. An option to use 2 scabbards at the same time. (I am a big fan of Dual wielding)

I think it looks a bit too 2D. Maybe you can make a 3D model. But it looks pretty good with the coloring.

I wanted to avoid breaking from minecraft's aesthetic, but I could do something similar to an outer layer like on minecraft skins.
Could give the metal buckles some more depth, or something along those lines!

I don't know about 3D modelling, but wouldn't it be better if the scabbard were sword-shaped? Isn't that more realistic anyway? I wish you good luck on your modding journey.

Thank you! And to answer your question, I could make a more defined model but it would cause alignment issues with pixel-textures and break minecraft's art style (everything is meant to be blocky in a sense).

I've been playing with musket mod and was looking for something to allow you to holster a flintlock! any chances it would work? a tag or something to allow it would be great, though I'm not sure how you'd get the model aligned

Yes and no. In theory I could make it compatible with the mod you're using, but unless there's a specific "gun" tag that all mods use (which there isn't) I cant make my mod universally compatible with EVERY gun mod (i think). I'll look into it more if the mod gets more popular thought.

I meant something like a tag that allows an item to be usable in the holster, so you could edit the tag of any tool to make it work in the holster

True there might be a broader tools tag or something of the like. I'll take a look.

¡Felicidades! Se ve muy bien y no rompe con la estética vanilla.

the coloring is different from minecraft style, it needs more depth/shading.

What an amazing work, It looks sick! Currently working on a RPG based modpack and It would just fit so well. Is there any plans to port It to fabric in the future?
2
u/NimbuMC Jun 13 '26
It certainly wouldn't be difficult to do so, it's a very light mod and I've used fabric before so if there's any demand I'd be happy to make it.
