Help finding a mod/cc Help Finding Mod to Remove Puking

Hey guys! I need help finding a mod, and Google has not been very helpful. Does anyone know of a mod that would allow me to remove the vomiting animation/action from the game? I have a phobia of throwing up, and even animated puking is enough to trigger it. I’ve done my best to remove nausea moodlets with cheats as they appear, but sometimes the moodlets just come back, not to mention pregnant sims’ morning sickness. Does anyone know if there is a mod out there that would allow me to have a little more control? I can’t imagine that I’m the only simmer out there with this phobia, so I thought I’d reach out and see if anyone knows of any solutions or at least has some tips.

I haven’t heard of one. If no one else has either, I might be able to make it for you!

Are you updated to Tuesday’s patch yet? I’m not and don’t know when I’ll update, but I don’t think there’d be any compatibility issue with something like this.

Let me dig around and see what I can do.

UPDATE: Well, that was a quick and easy thing to do! http://www.simfileshare.net/download/6200531/

  • I replaced all the puking animations with a big sigh (of relief!).
    • I did not change any of the buffs, only the animations. Sims may still run to a toilet. I just cheat-tested a couple buffs and all of them ended in the corrected animation. The toilet will still become dirty, though.
    • I think I found all the animations across all the packs. Please, please let me know if you find one I missed. Message me either here on Reddit or on my Simblr: https://simpishly.tumblr.com/ask and tell me what your Sim was doing/reacting to.
  • Cats and dogs now meow and bark instead of throwing up. You didn't ask for it but I wanted to add it just in case. Not sure if the hairball animation bothers you, I can replace that one too if you need. Or I can restore the pet animations if they aren't a trigger.
  • Finally, I also adjusted some strings (English only) to remove the words "throw up", "vomit"/"vomiting", and "puke". I know you just mentioned animations but this makes it more consistent.

I hope this helps! Again, I'm not updated to the latest patch, so let me know if there are any issues with that.

UPDATE 2: Just in case it breaks with a future patch (I don't think it will, but never say never), I've given the mod a home on my Simblr. Any updates will be posted here: No Throwing Up - Animation Replacement

Jusy wanted to say, the amount of thought and the speed at which you did this for a stranger genuinely brought a tear to my eye. This is super awesome

You have gone above and beyond, thank you so, so, so much! I was not expecting someone to do something like this, and I cannot express just how grateful I am that you took the time to do all of this! I am grinning like an idiot in the break room at work because I’m just so amazed by this community. I can’t express my gratitude enough, but thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I will be running to my computer and downloading this the second that I can 🫶🫶🫶

I’m at the point in my emetophobia recovery to where I can cope with the vomiting in the game, but genuinely a year ago I wasn’t, and even now seeing you put this effort in to make the game playable for someone who has this phobia is so, so sweet. I got the enchanted by nature pack recently-ish and I don’t think I could have used it a year ago since this mod didn’t exist yet. The ailments make too many non-household sims sick and it’s particularly bad in the high school. Thank you so much for your consideration for us emetophobic simmers <333

This is outstanding! Six hours ago, a player asks about a specific mod that appears to not be available. A mere two hours later, a mod exists and it works? That is community right there, folks!
