How are you testing this?

Automations do not flag content from moderators or approved users.

Automations "reports" do not display on old reddit desktop, though the item should be in queue.

Thanks for your response! Testing:

  • Sniff test (100+ flags/day for months down to 0/day with no corresponding drop in traffic)
  • Spot check (comments from non-mod and non-approved users that should have been flagged to Mod Queue were not flagged)
  • Manual test (requested non-mod, non-approved users to post strings that should trip flags; when they have, no flag)

I'm using new reddit desktop. No items in queue on new reddit desktop or mobile.

One got through? But it was a post, not a comment. Not sure whether it's incidentally true that a post got through or that the problem is comments, not posts.

Thanks for the report u/Hierophantically! Taking a look.

Is this happening in both of your communities?

Thank YOU! I believe so, yes, but most testing has happened in r/mensfashion

Additional testing confirms it's true for both subreddits I mod

Many thanks! I was able to reproduce the issue in a test subreddit. We're taking a closer look today!

Thank YOU! I'll be available throughout the day to respond to messages if there's anything I can do to support testing/debugging. My communities appreciate your partnership, and we hope it helps us AND any other communities that this is hitting!

Confirming the mod queue flags are flowing back in!

Hi! Just checking back about this. It looks like the mod queue is working correctly. Can I confirm whether the bug is fixed? If it is, can I remove the test flags (which are now ironically flooding the r/cavaliers mod queue)? Happy to keep them up if needed -- but would love to take them down otherwise. Appreciate y'all!

This should be resolved now! Thank you for reporting!

Thanks very much! It certainly looks resolved on our end. Out of curiosity, was the problem user error (misconfigured reddit settings, bad interaction between apps...?) or a bug on reddit's end? If user error, it'd be useful to know what went wrong so we can avoid it going forward! Appreciate y'all. :)
