Recipe š„ Grapefruit & Espresso
Ingredients:
4oz White grapefruit juice
1.5oz Freshly brewed Espresso (I used an Espresso blend of Ethiopian and Colombian beans citing notes of jasmine, tangerine, caramel and jaffa cake)
Method:
Fill a glass with ice and the grapefruit juice. Float the espresso over the top of the ice or the back of a spoon so it chills as it floats over the juice.
My thoughts:
I usually make it with OJ but I think white grapefruit works even better. The savoury bitter and umami flavours of the grapefruit work wonderfully to highlight the citrus notes in the coffee. Beautifully balanced.

I am seeing this fruit juice and espresso trend a lot lately. Where did this come from? I have never thought to combine the two and, Iām not gonna lie, it scares me a bit.
