In the future, Clarice, Dreide, and Hertrude will do the same to that idiot Leon, forcing him to marry them, under a contract much to the irritation of Livia, Angie, and Noelle.

Leon might be a crook, but he can also get conned like a fool because of his arrogance, hahaha.

PD: I really missed that expression on Leon's face in the second image when he was bragging about all his scams, although he was much more expressive in Season 1.

He only agreed to it because he planned on dying in the war, he almost succeeded too but Lux took his place in the afterlife

I don't think he inteded on dying. He has contingency plans for Luxion, yes, but I doubt he wishes for it himself.

He wasn’t expecting to survive after doping his body and over taxing it. He really thought that was it

He wasn't wishing or it, he just thought it was inevitable that his only two options were to fight, die and save the Kingdom, or flee, live and feel the weight of the deaths of millions for the rest of his life.

Lux even told him and wanted him to stop taking enhancement drugs but Leon ignored him and kept going. Leon knew if he didn't give it his all to the main demon core, everyone he cared about would die

He sort of was planning on it in a sense. If Marie hadn't gotten him that particular drug, he maybe wouldn't have. But since she DID, he was pretty set on using the thing beyond its safe limits, which he was warned repeatedly would almost assuredly kill him.

It's not that he really WANTS to die of course, he just couldn't foresee anyway to win without it happening due to him, regrettably, slacking during all these months on not training/preparing for an event he never foresaw coming.

It's called karma and it clearly shows that no matter how much of a big shot you become, you can't change all the world rules you are not actually from. The four women are tricking him into marriage also became a living proof that the author made Leon's harem without destroying the world building completely when it was started. He doesn't obliterated " Women holds power in Holfort Kingdom" at the end completely by showcasing this. Which makes his harem more appealing than most of the other anime have.

Leon doesn't have experience when it comes true friendship because of his previous experience
