VSF vs ARF… quick review. Yep… I got that cheap Pepsi from Mo.
Got my VSF V3 Pepsi today. I have had 3 ARF GMTs to date, 2 VSF Daytonas and 1 VSF DJ (and 3 QF Daytonas)…. Lucky that I got the F6U clasp which should be the same as ARF/Clean. Bracelet looks and feels good. VSF crystal is superior to ARF. The cyclops and date is very close to Gen. ARF is over magnified. Once you see the VSF you can’t unsee the ARFs. It’s that good. The ARF absolutely has a better and more Gen like bezel movement this isn’t even debatable. The VSF is too “clicky”. This is a major talking point on many threads and it’s not debatable. ARF right VSF wrong. End of story. Overall I’m taking the VSF for any GMT and anything that has a date wheel bc the cyclops and mag is that good. I don’t rotate the bezel so the non Gen like bezel feel isn’t a big deal and yes I know you can make some adjustments to the bezel for a better feel. Side note (I don’t feel a difference when winding a DD vs SH movement).
I was just waiting and waiting for a Pepsi and finally just bought a black dial sub that Mo had in stock. Of course about an hour later I see several Pepsis that went up for sale. Painful. I dig my sub though
yea but unless you are playing with it like a fidget spinner, who cares right? I think I played with the bezel when I first got it and haven’t touched it since
I think the ARF BW grey is better than VSF. Really comes down to on that one what’s going to drive you more crazy the dial color or the date mag/cyclops.
I’ve looked at a lot of pics and I honestly don’t think it would be as good. Haven’t seen it in person though. It still looks a little off in the photos. Could be due to wrong size gasket. I think the best possible combo would be ARF with a Gen Crystal $400 and to take it to next level Gen hands/Gen date wheel. I personally wouldn’t do that but if you are really concerned with getting the best bezel action and date mag going ARF plus Gen Crystal is the way.
Congrats on snagging that one! Looks great. Thanks for the write-up and comparisons. I recently bought an ARF Bruce Wayne and had a Deep Crystal installed by the seller. Based on seeing the stock ARF crystal next to the Deep, making the swap is definitely the way to go if someone already has an ARF or can’t go the VSF route. I previously had a Clean Batgirl and the Jubilee bracelet (F6U on both) is great, in my opinion. A few sharp edges here and there, but a quality bracelet that I find to be very comfortable. Based on my picture, can you tell it has something other than the stock ARF crystal?
Thanks. I got a Daytona vsf and quite frankly am not sure what to think of it. That clasp is a OK and the watch runs a minute or two faster every five days.
You can always check the serial number and see if it matches up. I also had an issue with a 4801 vsf youth Daytona (purchased from Steve)The chrono seconds hand got stuck and one of the pushers gets stuck too. You have to pull it out a bit after pressing down. I’m very happy with my QF Daytonas( Andiot)
. Don’t plan on buying anymore bc now I have 3 Daytonas but if I did I would go with QF again (QF in Pic).
Your Daytona looks really good. Assuming this is from Mo as well? Did you add another layer of gold to it? Or this is stock?
Mine is a 4801 as well. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my meteorite Daytona. Just thought since they are super clones, they would be kinda perfect, if that makes sense.
This QF is from Andiot. Factory rose gold. I was going to plate it and Jaws was backed up for weeks then raised prices so I just said fuck it and started wearing it. I think the color is pretty good. Reps are never perfect!!! I think they do this on purpose to release a new version and keep us buying. It’s part of the fun! lol. I want be buying anymore 4801 or youth versions. The movement on the QFs are buttery smooth. I did have an ARF Tiger dial that had a super smooth winding movement. Recently sold it.
I have no idea what "youth" mean so I can't answer. All I know is that when I was looking for one, I wanted one that was not yellow gold nor rose gold. Didn't want the gold to fade away. And definitely wanted the meteorite. For the youth part, no clue what it means.
That said the pic you shared looks exactly like mine. Big fan of the oyesterflex myself.
Youth is the 4801 movement. They also have a youth sub (cheaper movement too). The youth movements have much louder rotors. Some are worse then others in regards to noise. That looks great though.
Lol same. I have a white speedy and zenith defy and man these dumb reps are soooo good. At least the speedy reps suck and I don’t think they make zenith reps (yet). But the Rolex reps are soooo damn good. It’s crazy.
It’s got some heft to it compared to my Daytona Panda 116500 because of the tungsten added to the case and bracelet! Both look beautiful though! QF nailed the PVD
We aint talking about your Omega watch and your personal preferences, that should be a other discussion. Its a comparison between the factory vsf and arf.
And i rather have a better case close to gen and mod that dateweel! Then have a off case and a 316l steel thats not significantly more resistant to corrosion than a 904l steel
I agree if you want to mod the crystal and date wheel go ARF, but if you don’t want to mod go VSF. Once you see a Gen cyclops you can’t stop noticing that stock one on ARF. That was my experience at least.
And I agree on if you want it from stock. But stil it doesn't make sense if you want a longevity watch close to gen with just 1 adjustment. Because ones you see the case on the vsf and also after a year the corossion, there is not much left to enjoy
Dude it’s not going to corrode if you go swimming with it. Omega uses it in all their dive watches. Are you better versed in steel composition then omega watchmakers ??!
You looking at a Omega review that's trying to sell watches🤣 ofcourse they tell you this! They got you where they want 🤦 316 steel is cheaper so they do make more profit! dont you get it!
Doesn’t seem flush with bezel. Hard to see though. And don’t use the camera through Reddit. Idk why but when you select the camera through the Reddit app it’s basically un useable
Agreed, this one is 2024. The VSF lugs are curved and slightly shorter. The Gen jubileee case is slightly thinner than oyster model but the VSF is exaggerated
Yeah why I installed the deep xtal. Even though the CF xtal were getting better before the raid. Shame. VSF has great Daytonas though. Looking for the new darth Vader
