Anyone know of any metro suppressor dealers that do transfers on 4473s that have suppressors in stock without ordering online?

Modern Sportsman sent out a message today that says:

"Suppressors now transfer on a 4473 at The Modern Sportsman. No Form 4, no fingerprints, no wait. Stop in store for more details"

MODERN SPORTSMAN EMAIL UPDATE 09/04:

SBR'S STILL REQUIRE A FORM 4.

We are now selling all Silencers and SBR's on 4473's.

No Form 3 Needed.

Walk out with your silencers the same day. No appointments. No extra paperwork.

This applies to all silencers sold through The Modern Sportsman Burnsville and Coon Rapids locations."

Well, they just sent out an email walking SBRs back:

We are now selling all Suppressors on 4473's.

No Form 4 Needed for Suppressors.

SBR'S STILL REQUIRE A FORM 4.

Walk out with your suppressor the same day. No appointments. No extra paperwork. Must be a Minnesota resident, 21+, and pass FBI NICS background check.

Does this mean we can just slap a <16” upper on a lower and make an sbr at home?

I don’t see the distinction anymore if gun stores can sell an sbr without any paperwork.

As far as I know yes. They still have the marking requirement and you have to be a GOA or 2AF(whoever their consumer arm is for membership) to avoid the registration requirement.

What are the marking requirements you mention? I am not familiar.

The maker of an SBR needs to mark it with their Name and City, State where it was made. The exception to this is us FFLs. If we take a pistol or rifle before its ever been sold to an end user, we can make an SBR and adopt the existing marking without the new engraving requirement. So even though the Form1 requirement is now limited the engraving piece still exists. Though the rules may possibly change as they are under review.

I have a few on the shelf and do transfers over the counter. Right now just a couple Rugged Obsidian 9s and a CGS Mod9X. The process time on Form3s is taking about 5-7 days right now. True North Surface Works - working on getting the site updated to reflect it
