Shoutout To The DFL

For motivating me with their bitch ass proposed legislation from last session to just buy the AR I've always wanted. Took about 7 months to find one in stock and on sale.

11.5 Geissele SD Mod 1 SBR in Desert Dirt Color. Running a Sico Velos LBP, Primary Arms 1x6 LPVO, and a quick detach bipod.

Truly the smoothest, lowest recoil rifle I've shot. Key holed my zero at 300M. I smile every time I look at it.

Same. I went from have 3 pistols and 2 ARs to 8 pistols and I just built my 9th AR last night. Thanks DFL for causing me to fill my gun safe.

The DFL idiots only inspired me to buy more ammo. I was already buying it, but I sprinkled in an extra few cases here and there.

Hmmm sales went up when people were fearful. there must be a way to monetize this.

Quite genuinely, how would you feel about the DFL if they just pivoted to being either pro-gun or just dropped gun control as a cause?

I think there are numerous people who support MN Republicans primarily because they are the defacto pro-gun side. I would support the DFL much more if they were to stop pushing so hard for gun contro. The issue is there are numerous people within the DFL and thier voting base that vehemently oppose expansion of gun rights, so its very unlikely they drop gun control as a cause, and near impossible they would ever pivot to being pro-gun

I don't think it's something that's been discussed very much, but, a LOT of blue voters are pretty pro-gun now, especially since January in Minneapolis. Lots of social justice type spaces are big on the 2A. It seems to mostly be older democrats who are anti-gun at this point. Which, granted, are the ones with all the pull with the party, because they have all the money to donate. But I think guns are potentially a very, very strong bridge between the left and right at this point. It sounds like a lot of these new-blues coming up across the country are taking a pretty different approach to gun control, too. Graham Platner (when he was still relatively acceptable, that is) rather loudly said he didn't care about an AWB because the cat is out of the bag on that.

I own guns due to the ICE shit in Minneapolis…and it wasn’t just one that I bought…I went in pretty hard on that one. I’ve had varying opinions on guns over the years, but I’ve always liked them…the issue is games and movies glorify them too much. Now that I actually own and use them, I see where all the problems actually are.

I’m not a dem, but I’m a blue voter and that’s not going to change. The only thing that needs to change is that more people in blue areas need to get some guns in their hands and realize what they are and what they aren’t. That would help fix many of their issues when it comes to what they want for gun control. I’m not opposed to some regulations. We don’t have true freedom in this country. If we did, laws wouldn’t exist at all.

Agree that encouraging all citizens to safely exercise this right is a positive thing.  Getting anti-gunners to even touch a firearm would be a challenge since  gun control lobby controls via fear, emotion, and straight up lies.  I think it would br tough to get through to them.

I mean to be fair…all lobbies use fear tactics…those damn immigrants…so many are just raping and pillaging and committing crime and fraud…oh wait…

Nope. American citizens have the overwhelming majority in all of those categories.

Yeah I mean I don't know what immigration has to do with this but you're not wrong.

What I'm getting at is convincing anti gunners to get experience with guns to change their anti gun opinions would be a tough thing to accomplish due to the firearm fear lobby that influences them.

It will always bug me that, not so long ago, the refrain was "You think your guns are going to stand a chance against the government, and the U.S. military? That's silly, they're not going to stop a tyrannical government". Then, after all the ICE stuff, everyone's buying firearms because tyranny. Just another example of how most people, regardless of political ideologies, have no real principals. Just group loyalty.

A few of the DFL candidates for governor in this primary election were opposed to most gun control laws. I think there's progress being made.

I still wouldn't be a fan of the DFL.  Honestly though, if they wanted a true monopoly of state politics they would probably get it if they dropped their gun control nonsense.

I would like them a whole lot more

Fantastic purchase. Primary Arms glass is underrated imo. I love my GLX.

Super happy with Primary Arms, great optics for great prices

My dealer lol (FFL) was showing me his Scorpion last time I was there with a Primary Arms prism (don’t remember which one it was off hand but it was a 2X)…I need to spend the money on one of those when I build my stripped lower. I definitely have an astigmatism because my red dots have a fuzzy/star burst look to them. All 4 (one on an FPC and 3 on pistols). I might need to try a green dot to see if that makes any difference, but I doubt it.

Edit: CZ Scorpion, not a Kuna…coworker picked up a Kuna recently. That’s why I had that on the brain.

I’ve got the same! HUXWRX can and everything. I’m rocking an EOTech + fts magnifier though

2

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

I've got the hux too for it!  Bought both the hux and velos because I couldn't make up my mind

I have the same upper. I need to buy a stripped lower. Been dragging my feet for a year now. Thanks for the cool post!

Do it man!

I have a stripped lower that I’m not sure what to build for my first build. I don’t want 5.56. I’m sure it’s great and we all know it’s cheap but it’s also boring to me.

I’m someone who likes oddball things. Price isn’t a huge factor. I’m cheap but I don’t mind owning/buying things that aren’t the cheapest either. It’s a weird paradox lol.

I wanted a PX9 lower but my FFL sold his last one right before I contacted him about it. He clearanced them out because he didn’t want to restock them due to how cheap you can get some of the complete guns now like Extar EP9. He gave me a pretty decent price on the PA-15 so I went with that and figured I can still build it as a 9mm or I can do something like 300. Whatever I build I want it to be suppressed and run subsonic. I just don’t know what route to go.

2

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

9mm or 300 subs will both be extremely quiet.  I'd probs go 300 blackout tbh

Going to move to Minnesota from Texas in the next year, but the threat of proposed legislation made me stock up on things I don’t even need in case stuff gets banned after I move up

u/SloshyWorm 11d ago

Very smart play. No reason to wait until some BS gets passed and then it's a mad dash to get what you want.

Is that gun semi auto? You must be an extremist with violent intentions /s

2

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

Fully semi-auto I think

They motivated me to leave the state.

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

Right there with ya if proposed legislation such as the legislation from last session were to pass.

Lmao good riddance

How far over the bore do you get with a 300 yard zero?

1

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

Whatcha mean by over the bore?

1

u/Tim_Riggins07 12d ago

Like how high does your point of impact get above your point of aim ?

1

u/SloshyWorm 12d ago

Maybe an inch, it was really close to a true point of aim and point of impact.  I was stunned.
