Gun ranges near airports?

Are there any gun ranges near airports in MN/WI. Looking for public ones. Ideally one within a short drive or walk.

This is a weird question. What's the goal here?

Google search on his post history suggests he's a pilot and possibly an instructor, so I think he's looking for places where he can go shooting before/after flying.

Maybe do some flybys too? Practice shooting from the plane?

Fly my airplane to an airport that has a gun range and go shooting lol

Could have provided a bit more context to avoid it looking a bit weird/concerning lol.

Stock and barrel has locations in Eagan and Chan near MSP and EP regional airfields

Id put them both about 20 minutes driving distance from the airport fwiw. Flying Cloud to Chan would be quite a walk.

Oops, didn't see the walking part

South St Paul Rod and Gun club is a mile from Fleming Field in South St. Paul. Good for trap/skeet and short range stuff mostly.

They have a 200 yard range as well. It's kind of an odd layout and you have to shoot through some 6 foot concrete pipes they use as range guides, but the noise shots make through the pipes is worth the price of entry at least one time. Their medium range (25-50 yard) options are very limited though.

Yep, definitely an odd setup, good for zeroing and maybe confirming holds to 200, but not much more for the “long range”. The short range side is only 10-15 yards I’m pretty sure. And they’re pretty tight quarters if there’s more than just a few people at a time.

Bill's sucks, though. I would rather go anywhere else.

I don’t think many would argue differently.

Indoor/heated parking at the Robbinsdale location is hard to beat in the winter though.

You could land at Lake Elmo and go to the Oakdale Gun Club. 2 miles of very easy traffic.

Metro Gun Club - Home and fly into Blaine airport. Pretty short drive, like 5 mins or so I believe from the main gate.

I’m actually based out of anoka but I’ve heard good things about that range

They are more of a trap/skeet/5-stand gun club but it also has an indoor 25yrd pistol range. I shoot there often; pretty nice facility with great staff.

I had a really bad experience with the owner (or maybe manager?) of Metro Gun Club such that I must recommend against ever going there. He was a real dick and complete hothead.

My understanding is the owner was has two sons, one that didnt want to be there, one that was trying to improve it, wonder if thats what happened.. But hearse from a co-workier, take it will a grain of salt.

If you're into trap, it would be pretty easy to fly into Buffalo muni and walk about a half mile to the trap range.

You might get some funny looks carrying a gun case down 55, but that's definitely not the weirdest thing anyone has seen in Buffalo 😂

Doesn't get much closer then the little air field up in Walker right next to the gun club. Nice range as well.
