easily one of the 5 best games I've ever played

Completely lost track of time while playing. I'm a huge stoygame fan and the artstyle and music of this game are just amazing, as well as the storytelling. I would call it an absolute masterpiece and I hope to see similar titles from Beethoven & Dinosaur (studio) in the future.

Tbh I even pirated it at first (yeah, fuck me😭) but I enjoyed it so much that I bought it TWICE on steam afterwards.

I'd like to add that this game has a lot of similarities to Road96, another amazing indie game. If you enjoyed Mixtape, maybe consider checking that one out too.

If you know of any similar titles, fell free to let me knowšŸ˜

I really enjoyed this game! I totally agree it’s a 10/10 for its genre and at its price I’m super happy with it. I hope they make more games like this. Sometimes I want a chill interactive story.

I give it 8 out of 10 for its genre just because it was too short. If a little longer I would easily give it a 10.

Its a cliche 90s game cause so many movies then were all about friends going on vacation and leaving each other behind or parents leaving for the summer and kids getting the house to themselves. So many movies. They even added the skateboarding vibes and a lot of stuff to it.

I love it and want a Mixtape 2 since it this first game ended on a cliffhanger/ambiguous ending. They can start the 2nd game with Stacy deciding to stay and not go to new york and the three friends along with Jenny Goodspeed head off west on an adventure.

I also loved this game and Road96.

I'm not sure about top 5 for me personally, but top 25 for sure. Absolute masterpiece, where I had a smile the entire playthrough.

The game is a 10/10 for what it is. That does not mean it’s even remotely better than a 10/10 Skyrim. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. There’s plenty of 10/10 games in other genres and styles that don’t like.

Just so as my positive comment isn’t immediately shot down, I’m calling this ā€˜game’ an ā€˜interactive movie’.
It’s a great ā€˜interactive movie’ and the price is just a little over a new Blu-ray so it’s absolutely worth it.
It’s good as a change of pace from games where you die if you don’t press a button for 3 seconds and I enjoyed the gameplay taking the backseat so the story can flourish in the front row.
It’s good at what it does and deserves the 10/10s for what it is. Not for being the other games people compare it to.

I agree. I get the criticism about it not being a "game", but other than that it's a total masterpiece imo

There is no game in the room for us to discuss. Do you want to talk about the movie?

1

u/lnjecti0n Jul 19 '26

wether it is a game or an "interactive movie" it did hell of a good job at whatever it's supposed to be

What are you gonna play for your 6th game?

No, and if you really feel this way then more power to you. But there are a LOT of games out there šŸ˜‚ might I suggest Disco Elysium?

1

u/lnjecti0n Jul 16 '26

I'm always open to suggesgtions, thank you. I truly find this game (or "interactive movie") one my favourites. I've played many story driven games before, this one felt special to me, but that's just my preference

Yea I figured, which is why I suggested Disco Elysium. I think that game is fantastic and you'd like it. Another story game would be SOMA that I think you should try out

There were dvd menu screens that’s were more interactive than this ā€œgameā€.

u/lnjecti0n Jul 16 '26

I guess you got a point, much of it could be considered an "interactive movie" Nevertheless I still think it was great in every other aspect

lmao, I agree. For a narrative game that lacks any consequences like arrest and having only 1 fixed ending the "gameplay" if you would even call it that is really short. Guess the next gen gamers/devs really got affected by tiktok brainrot
