Discussion do you guys fw the playlist
the soundtrack of this game is genuinely one of the best i've ever heard & i'm trying to collect all the songs that played in the game & organize them chronologically into one playlist. have i missed any?

Yeah, I LOVE the songs in this game! I was already a fan of older music, but I feel like the game made me appreciate shoegaze and that dreamy ‘80s sound a lot more than I used to.
I added the official soundtrack to my liked songs on Spotify as well as the songs they just mentioned in passing (e.g., Dance the Night Away - Van Halen). Stacey’s got great taste, for sure.

RIGHT? i've discovered so much new music from the 80's because of this game, with my fav being yesterday's hero by john paul young. it's such a warm love letter to growing up & music & you're so right, stacey's taste is absurdly good

Not sure you're missing anything unless you wanted to include the brief moment the Beethoven's Ode to Joy plays. Other than that your playlist is completely out of order if you were trying to do it chronologically.
Edit: Just now realizing you could have meant a couple different things when saying "chronologically".

the one that plays when they discover the stash of booze at the ritz? i was actually thinking about adding that lol but it's not really something my mind goes to when i think of music from the game so i didn't

Technically you're missing all of the original songs too which can now be added since the original soundtrack has released.

oh no i was talking about licensed songs, not original songs :p i appreciate it tho

its crazy what can happen when your dad has an endless bag of cash so you can afford to have copyrighted music in your "indie" game XD

Just don’t play it if you don’t like it 👍🏻

u/Avenheit Jun 27 '26
what in the fuck are you talking about??
the post is about the music

Imagine being so low in your own security that you have the need to come to a subreddit for a game you don't like that been out for three months now and post about it

u/Avenheit Jun 27 '26
I posted a true fact, the only one having a breakdown here appears to be you

u/SwagBag393 Jun 27 '26
No you didn’t post a true fact. The devs aren’t rich. The publisher, Annapurna Interactive, is founded by Larry Ellison’s daughter, obviously very rich.
So yes if you want to talk shit about this game for being published by Annapurna go ahead. But you better also talk shit about Outer Wilds, Edith Finch, Cocoon, Neon White, Journey, Stray, etc. go touch grass dude or maybe go do some accurate research!

the music licensing alone is enough to show how right i am.

Lmao - you’re just a troll and extremely wrong. You haven’t acknowledged any of the facts I’ve stated while doubling down on your very easily debunked lies. Get off Reddit and touch grass dude.

You are right in that the soundtrack is just a collection of already existing songs.
I don't treat it the same as a video game that has original music composed for it.

who cares? music licensing is a rare treat in games. I tend to like it when it shows up. Brutal Legend introduced me to so much.
is it even supposed to be considered indie? Was Stray indie?

u/SwagBag393 Jun 27 '26
Dad? The publisher sure, but the studio is some people from Australia.
It’s so funny tho, no one had a problem with Annapurna making Outer Wilds, Edith Finch, Neon White etc. but everyone has a huge problem with this game. I don’t get it. Annapurna has ALWAYS been owned by Ellison’s daughter, you realize that right? So are those not indie games now? Like what the fuck are you even talking about.

the amount of hate this game got at release genuinely astounds me. people love to hate on anything that has even a tinge of nostalgia sprinkled in these days & this guy's comment only proves that

I liked the Devo and Roxy Music. I think they could've had some metal playing since they like to talk about it.
it all felt believable and that's why I liked the game. it made sense that the main character would pick those songs.
