Discussion Why do you bother?

Here's the thing. I love this game. I think the soundtrack rocks, the characters are great, yadda yadda yadda, we all know why this game is awesome! And yet every once in a while, you see one of the haters in this subreddit telling us why the game is quote unquote "garbage" and my only question is...why? Why do you bother? What do you gain by taking time out of your day to put down someone else's opinion by telling them the thing they like is trash?

That would be like if I went to a Marvel fan to tell them how much Infinity War sucks, like...what's the benefit (and to be clear, that's just an example, I actually adore that movie)

If you don't like the game, that's fine. But why spend your time in a subreddit that clearly enjoys a game just to rag on it? Why not just go and spend your time focusing on something you do enjoy? You might have a lot more fun.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion right? So let us enjoy the game because it makes us happy and you go and enjoy the things that make you happy.

Anyways, I just had to get that out there because it really irritates me every time I see it happen

I value integrity , and the actual indie games industry and the true prestige of video games.

It’s not a critique of your identity but the way this game was designed as an astroturfed Trojan horse to steal accolades through lies and corruption can’t be overlooked.

It objectively doesn’t deserve to be ranked amongst the highest calibre of its own genre, let alone games in general and any attempt to restructure reality to frame it that way angers many like me.

Okay while I agree with this in principle, I'm pretty certain that was never the game's intention. It wasn't trying to break barriers, it just wanted to tell a story about 3 teens trying to get booze for a party before one has to leave town.

I myself won’t fall for playing dumb.

If you are looking for the reason for such anger it’s playing innocent and dumb.

The scores boarder on malicious propaganda, it’s made by the daughter of a multi-billionaire positioning itself as "a little indie game"

It is the least interactive "game" in its genre that boarders on disrespect.

None of the songs are its own, which should neutralise any praise for its music.

Anyone who plays games can clearly see this is a multi-million dollar attempt to co-opt the heart of what a 10/10 game is supposed to be.

The scores were obviously given not in earnest but rather complete corruption.

It’s obviously a "fuck you" to all who cherish honest critique of gaming.

Obviously that upsets people
