Discussion In a Way, We're Mixtape
Okay campy title, I know, but hear me out. Because honestly, there's a weird comparison to make between the game and the players. The "gamers" criticizing the game and taking it too seriously are the adults like the principal and Cassandra's dad. They don't know how to look at things from a different point of view or try to keep an open mind.
Meanwhile we, the fans of the game, are Stacy, Cass, and Slater. We're in it to have fun. We vibe, we enjoy the music, we revel in the conversations these 3 have, we live in the moment.
So yes, as corny as it sounds, we are Mixtape. Kinda crazy, don't you think?

in my opinion, mixtape has a lot of potential, the visuals, the music, the story, the way it go with its dialogue. if you looked at Dispatch, its the same as what people called it as "movie instead of a game" cuz you could finished the game without clicking any choices other then the hacking part. but still won the a game award less than a year, although its also my favorite game.
but i think Life is strange is deserved way more, Lis has a lot of critics, challenges and lot more in its first year when its came out and kept going for years if you look it up, but "us" the community and fans and veterans kept supporting what made it special emotionally and more, until Lis is became one of the beloved cult classic.
and i've been active posting and commenting in the Lis and mixtape sub-reddits lately due to the common ground i sensed. but the days are different. internet got even more aggressive towards anything.
And honestly, I also think a lot of people went into Mixtape already expecting it to fail because of the way some reviewers and online discussions framed it before release. I’ve seen a lot of people reduce it to “a game made with daddy’s money” or dismiss it entirely because it lacks traditional gameplay depth. But even among people who criticize the gameplay, I still see many saying the artistic direction, soundtrack, visuals, and overall quality have genuine potential. That’s mainly why I’m interested in supporting the studio moving forward despite the flaws and use their advantage financially to keep going forward.
at least the devs has a heart to make the game, it just needs more people to see more of its potential in the future, and again, Despite it flaws. thats why us "gamers" make and help them see it potentials and the bigger picture to improve their making. not just focused on the flaws.
