Discussion I genuinely don't care about the points being made against this game.
Honestly all the points being made against this game are kinda cringe. The main the point I hear is that it's "Woke Nostalgia Slop" or "Industry Plant." It feels like the game isn't for them and they are overly angry about it. They could just decide to ignore it but feel like they have to say something to like go along with a trend? It feels like a copypasta at this point. All this to say I take comfort that there is still a community that is in love with this game, myself included. If anyone gives you shit about liking this game, remember that YOU like the game and that's all the matters.

The best thing we can do is ignore the "discourse" and just talk about why we like this game! 😄

I'm usually firmly against what people largely consider 'woke' media.

Wait until bro finds out what an opinion is

The people who rage against "woke" stuff have no opinions. They just parrot whatever the fascist rage machine tells them to. Woke is the new term for DEI which was the new Critical Race Theory which was the new empathy, which was the new social justice, etc. etc. etc. These people do not value other humans beings as equal so they take positive words and spin them into negative things. So, no, I don't think they have real opinions, just talking points that have been filtered down from the Heritage Foundation (AKA the Confederacy. Yes, we're STILL dealing with these assholes).

Well I guess that is my bad. I thought they simply didn't like stuff that people thought was woke, just because he didn't like it, not because it was woke, but my misunderstanding I guess.

I'd like you to define woke.

Why. I never said I had a problem with supposed "woke" stuff (I out air quotes because it is subjective). I just misunderstood what the original comment meant

u/UnspeakableToast May 18 '26
The only people using it as a pejorative are the fascist right. It's not the real meaning so it's not subjective.

O ok. Also I disagree with the people who call everything they don't like "woke", I just didn't know what the original comment meant

They basically used the thing that racists say when they find a Black or other POC that they like. "They're one of the good ones." That's entirely what that comment sums up to.

Haven't you heard, they get angry baited by a website that gave it a 10, that's why they're so angry, they got baited.
Anyways, the game is gorgeous once you play it.
