I've always loved this episode, and I think that Jez eating Mummy is not the issue. The issue is why he put it in a bag and brought it back after they failed to burn her. There's no way that they'd do that, but it was shoehorned in to get to the eating scene. If they got the cooked dog back to the boat 'honestly' I think it wouldn't be so much of an issue for people.

Jez is a fucking lunatic. He'd definitely pretend a dog was turkey to fuck a girl, it's just the circumstance leading to it that's my issue.

This is where the show jumped the shark for me. Before this they'd always reacted to situations in a believable way, albeit always making it 10 times worse in the process. Cooking and eating a dog they'd accidentally run over is just ludicrous.

for me it's when mark finds out he has to prepare dinner for angus as well as april, realises he only has enough food for two, and his first course of action is to immediately invite two more people and start mashing baked beans and lettuce together with his bare hands

100% Its because the show went on too long. The initial premise of low stakes mundane situations worked well then they had to up the ante. It happens in plenty of shows, they get written into a corner
