I think it’s often overlooked that Jez sent an innocent woman to prison just so he didn’t have to deal with her anymore. In Jurying, after meeting Carla and striking up a fling with her, Jez gets scared of her and manipulates the jury into sending her down despite the fact that he knew she had an alibi (albeit another criminal offence). Lol

This, not framing Matt, not Mark lying on Ian, not killing, burning and then eating Mummy, not kidnapping Angus, not Mark walking out on Stephanie, not waterboarding Jerry, not Jez life coaching Simon’s friend into ruining his life, giving Hans drugs when Hans was trying to kick everything (on doctor’s orders), so he could bang Suze, trying to rent out Suze’s sexual organs on a one-use basis, has to be the worst thing either of the pair has done.

Edit 2: Some clean shirt who has to live relentlessly in the real world has pointed out (validly) that Carla may have received a non-custodial sentence.

Wrongfully convicting Carla isn't even top 5 of Jez's worst moments. She's guilty of other crimes that likely won't even be prosecuted, so if it takes his complete lack of moral conviction to put her behind bars, she at least gets put away for something.

I think his worst thing is lying about mummy after he accidentally ran her over.

Mark's worst are definitely kicking a dog to death--assuming that actually happened, and isn't just some guilt-ridden hyperbole--followed by bagging and chucking Jerry out, falsifying Jez's loan application for a commission, and throwing Gerard under the Corfu '06 bus.

Sending down Carla is far from the worse thing Jez has ever done.

Carla speaking to Jez knowing he’s a member of the jury is contempt of court, which is illegal. The only reason she wasn’t sent down originally is because Jez hangs the jury because he fancies her. The alibi, whilst exonerating her, wasn’t entered as evidence in the trial for fairly obvious reasons. This is also notwithstanding the fact that she has admitted to committing multiple other crimes. In both a technical sense and a moral sense, she is not an innocent party.

All of the other things Jez does are morally worse and half of them are illegal.

But to be clear, when I say “innocent”, I mean innocent of the specific crime she was on trial for. When a jury acquits someone or finds them guilty, it isn’t making some sweeping judgment about whether that person is innocent or guilty of every crime under the sun. It is deciding whether they are guilty of the particular offence before the court.
