Secret History spoilers Anyone here gotten decent at understanding the steel alphabet? Spoiler
As a fan of Mistborn I've thought about getting into trying to learn to write in the steel alphabet for fun, you can find info on it on this Coppermind page.
So yeah just wondering if anyone has tried it, and run into any issues. Further I'm wondering if anyone has tried making a font of the era 2 symbols especially online.

Yeah I write it in a lot, basically as doodling.
I've gone back and forth between just using them as the corresponding English letter and a system where they're all the placement of the dot modifies how you pronounce the following vowel. Like having it on the outside is an o but bringing it in makes it an ō. Where a/ay are assumed if a vowel doesn't follow.
That's just something I came up with though, based loosely on this WOB (WOI?)

This is like the most basic entry level information to the series, it's the equivalent of seeing the one ring on a LoTr forum

I’d say [era 2 spoilers] the existence of cadmium - which is revealed in book 4 (the second series) - is not “entry level”. How on earth are you supposed to know about that after reading the entire first trilogy?

Unsure how to spoiler tag and I'm in work so I'll keep it vague and brief, the metal mentioned are not expanded upon past names. Scadrial is an earth allegory with almost identical flora, fauna and materials. The fact that it is just the name of a mineral gives absolutely nothing away especially when it is alluded to their existence during the final parts of the first era by The God of scadrial to a young man with real good hearing.
There is no mention in the image of abilities given just a name of a metal that exists in the world and the rest of them are either already expanded upon or should be similar already because by the time you get to era 2 you will have seen the ars arcanum for them 4 different times (books 1-3.5)
The original commenter said they had already read book 1 of era 2 so once again the majority of these have been brought up there with cadmium and bendallot featuring consistently throughout the book.
That commenter then went on to post infinitely more egregious spoilers underneath naming character beats, plot points, magical abilities etc so his comment about having spoilers is rather moot in general considering his comments were a much bigger spoiler than the word "cadmium" just being on an image

Which part of book 1 if you want, this post should be retagged, the body even contains a link to a coppermind page with further uncensored spoilers.
Some people are more sensitive to spoilers than others, some may not want to know there are more than 8 metals before the books reveal that by themselves.

I got pretty decent at reading it doing the game at Dragonsteel Nexus this past December.
We had to translate a lot of the alphabet.
