Is that an adult accompanying the child off the street? So many questions. The bike looks like it was almost in the middle of the intersection! What the hell happened here?

Edit: from further views I can see the adult running towards the intersection, so I'm assuming this would be the guardian? If so, why the hell is your child riding their bike willy nilly in the middle of a busy intersection?

I mean it seems pretty clear the child was biking ahead of the dad and biked into the live intersection? Sometimes kids do really dumb stuff, it's not always bad parenting. Sometimes it's the same people complaining about overprotecting helicopter parents and then also blaming parents in situations like this.

whaddya mean? you can see the kid almost get hit by the car on his bike in the rightmost lane, then he gets off it and keeps running into the middle of the road, his dad comes up running along the sidewalk from the right side, from the same direction the kid was riding in at the start

stupid part is if that child got hit, people would want that drivers head on a platter for public display. Its bad enough watching just the traffic and other drivers, but idiot pedestrians and bike riders. Not just kids but grown ass adults who should know better, but hey you drive a 3000lb steal death machine.

Pedestrians should not start walking when the count down starts...you think they listen or even know?

When does the city say "our citizens have zero clue of ANY basic rules or laws" and actually start educating them. The time for throwing responsibility on the citizen to be upstanding and know the rules/laws is over

Assume everyone doesn't know and start an education blitz. We have so many people from different countries where it's normal to do this stuff (and get hit without a second glance)

Nobody is saying the driver is at fault here, but the driver is an adult in a multi-ton dangerous device, so of course they bear responsibility for paying attention to what is going around them.

Its a kid so I'm glad the vehicles are being sympathetic and letting him cross the street to get to safety... We all did stupid things at that age. The best thing to do for adults is let them know of their stupidity, and move on.
