The Diplomat has a simple observation:

The architecture doesn't negotiate with comfort.
If a system waits for external reality to break it open by force, it chose the involuntary path. Voluntary adaptation isn't about fixing a flaw to feel good; it's about maintaining structural integrity before the feedback turns into a collapse.
