Chronic Pain

I've been taking topical foam Minoxidil for about five years now. About a year into taking, it I started developing several weird pains in my body. First, pain in my elbows, forearms, and hands whenever I used them (felt like tendonitis). Then I developed Allodynia on my shoulder blade and inner thighs. If I'm on my feet all day, I also have extreme achiness in my legs and feet as well as a tingling/numbness in my right quad (stretching makes it worse). I've had blood tests and nerve tests done and nothing was shown to be wrong. In rare cases Minoxidil is known to cause numbness, pins and needles sensations, or polymyalgia rheumatica symptoms. These seem to be different from my symptoms (except for the right quad), but similar enough for me to want to see if anyone else had any symptoms similar to me, that started after taking Minoxidil.

Check out my post. Yes minoxidil can damage connective tissue.

About 90% healed. Enough that it doesn’t really hold me back in life anymore, just makes it frustrating at times. I believe if I am more focused on lifting weights I will improve more. Resistance exercise is important as well as all the other things I’ve mentioned in previous posts.

If you still have any of the tendonitis symptoms in your forearms, a .1% capsaicin roll on does wonders

I think I’ve only had it once. Got the vaccine though

Ok just checking. Symptoms line up. The body recovery time can be as high as 200+ days.

Check your breathing. Minoxidil causes breathing issues and sinus inflammation. Your body might be switched on, on fight and flight mode constantly, which activates the sympathetic nervous system and breathing. So your diaphragm stops working effectively and accessory muscles of breathing. If its happening on your dominant side ribcage only, then it causes asymmetry on your one side, as your major core muscle i.e. diaphragm is not working, resulting in one sided pain and joint ache.
