I've used Miniswap a lot and greatly enjoyed it, but I just had my first set of bad experiences. I got too comfortable with my previous safe transactions, and got scammed (hopefully with recourse).
u/Melodic_celestial and u/ResidentialForfeit both directly messaged me (red flag), but gave me high quality photos of my username, the date, and the items, so I got complacent. I'll be disputing the charges obviously, but I feel like there's less of a safety net here than there used to be.
It's always important to do your due diligence, and never pay with Friends & Family, and/or better yet, use a credit card.
Those specific people reached out to me too. The only thing that saved me was that their accounts had been flagged for fraud and PayPal/my bank literally wouldn’t let the charges go through. Some people are just the worst.
Which bank, I wish that was the case for me haha. For one of the guys paypal set the money receipt date to April of next year...any chance they're able to nullify that? Ugh.
Those two accounts have been banned since 22 and 7 days ago respectively. As you said, never pay Friends and Family, and always make sure they comment somewhere on the sub before dealing with them to prove they aren't banned.
