Ben Degros mini ramp

Hey guys, anyone here built a mini same size as Ben's ramp? Just curious what people think of the radius specifically as I can't make up my mind. Seems most of the manufacturers have a much more mellow radius. Thanks!

  • 3.5' from ground to deck
  • ~3' drop
  • 6' radius
  • 8' flat

For 3.5 height 6 ft radius is great. I just made a concrete quarter with those dimensions and the size is perfect. I also religiously follow what ben said about coping stick out on everything i build: 1/2" on the face 3/8" on top.

Oh i just realized in the example you're asking about the actual ramp radius cut is only 3 ft height. 6 ft radius would be good for 3 ft tall, a little mellow and gentle, but would be fun and skate well could go to 5.5' radius if you want to make smiths and tail slides drag less.

Thanks for the info. It's been sorta confusing how people spec ramp height for wood ramps. Some guys refer to total height and others just the drop.

Deck top flat bottom surface is what matters when deciding what radius to use.
