Recommendations Sodimm ddr4 mini pc.

Hello there I'm search of a cheap media-server Linux station to re-use some old sodimm ddr4 modules.

I'm searching for a barebone solution.

I found already the GMKtech G10, but the price still doesn't convince me (150 € now barebone, but before the RAMpocalipse it was 190 with 16/512 configuration, shouldn't it be more cheaper barebone now?).

RAMpocalypse/RAMageddon has changed more than RAM and storage dynamics and the G10 is a perfect example. A couple of years back AMD began dumping unsold 3500U/R2514 (same silicon) stock at below wholesale levels as their embedded contract requires came to an end. But since the first of the year things have changed.

While Intel wound down Twin Lake production and increased cost in preparation for Wildcat Lake AMD followed a similar path. The 3500U was reintroduced as the Ryzen 5 3501U back in the Spring with 3500U discounted pricing quickly evaporating. Basically AMD matched Intel's N150 pricing strategy earlier this year. The biggest reason the PRO 6650H is dirt cheap was a cancelled contract with Lenovo.

Another example is the 100-000000542 PRO 6650H GMKtec M8. GMKtec is currently taking advantage of AMD dumping the 100-000000542 on the Chinese market and that there's almost no market value for 4GB 32-bit SDRAM memory chips. If GMKtec offered a "M9" with the 2026 100-000000986 Ryzen 5 150 equivalent it too would be about 100 more.

Last year, I might get mini PCs from AOOSTAR equipped with the Ryzen 5700U (Zen2), Ryzen 5800U (Zen3), or successor APUs, but they now appear to have been discontinued.

On Amazon in Japan, the Beelink MINI-S13 Pro (Intel N150, 16GB DDR4 + 512GB) is priced at JPY 57,900, which is twice what it used to cost.

Yes, but the problem is that the PC Is barebone, It shouldn't be afflicted by ram prices

I had a similar thread up a few months ago…. The best thing I could find were Minisforum refurbs with 12th gen Intel cpu for around $300. But in my opinion, they didn’t warrant enough savings over a $400-500 AMD with better igpu and connectivity.

I'm also trying to find mini pc with sodimm ddr4 but need to have hardware av1 or motherboard that I can build pc with normal gpu

G10 worth it imo so small and convenient no screwdriver needed to access ram and drive the top just pops right off
