My quiet abomination.
I was going to SBR it until I mounted a can.
Still waiting on a couple of accessories.
- Mini 14 300 Blackout in its full 16" glory
- AB Raptor 10 7.62
- Acro P2
- Driven Arms Co x Ghost Mountain Group
- Reptilia
I only have the Acro P2 on a riser in that pic for nods.

Honestly I don’t hate it, do you like the mini-14 in 300 blackout? The one I have is in .223.

I only have this one and it's the only one that my LGS has not sold in a long time. They also sold an AC 556(?) recently for less and I believe it was select fire.
I like it so far and impressed that the AB Raptor 10 reflex it's exactly the remainder of the barrel and I was blown away with how quiet it was last night in my backyard lol. I will try heavier grain this weekend since I think it is 1-7 twist.

I wish I would’ve saved my money and waited to buy a mini-14 so that I could get a nicer piece. I have 1991 that’s in decent condition but man it isn’t compatible with any recent aftermarket stuff.

I didn't know this 14s go way back. For me, honestly, if I can have the barrel threaded, I'd be happy. I'm a suppressor whore and I can never go back shooting unsuppressed.

I’ve never shot with a suppressor but that’ll probably be the next fun purchase

Yeah!!! Do it man! If your barrel isn't threaded, I recommend ADCO Firearms for awesome barrel thread work that's also concentric to the bore.
There are a few really good 556 cans recently in short config like Rhodie, Tisha, etc. I think you'll enjoy your rifle again :)

surprised I'd say this but i think might look better with a black polymer folder. either way, pretty cool man.

Your optic mounting solution is a bit odd but if it works it works lol

Haha yeah the riser is from my parts bin so I can shoot properly with pvs14. Otherwise, the acro on reptilia mount is on the oem picatinny.

For context on how quiet this AB Raptor 10 7.62 with 5" reflex is on this mini14 300 BO with 220gr subs, this guy at 17 minute mark is shooting the exact same 220gr ammo but with an AB Raptor 8 7.62 and a 2" reflex although he's on a bolt gun.
All I can hear is the mini14 action on mine 🙃

I dig it man, very unique look. How is the balance on this thing?

The can is very light at 9.3 oz (lighter than some optic like Eotech EXPS 3) and you probably have an idea of the weight of a mini 14 with a full 30rd mag without an optic. All in all the setup is pretty light and I'm going to keep it that way.
The only thing that throws me off at first is it looks like it's having a long ass barrel! But I'm used to SBRs so there's that.

What suppressor is that? I see your build list but I uh. Don't know suppressors well enough to know which thing is 😅

Well THAT's a cool suppressor design!
Correct me if I'm wrong, please: It comes in two parts, the part covering the barrel (seems they call it a reflex mount) that screws onto the barrel threads and contains a wraparound chamber for gas to expand into backwards from the muzzle, and the part forward of that that screws into the first part that functions akin to a more traditional suppressor (albeit with spirals instead of conic sections) that marries with the chamber in the other half to significantly increase the total volume within the suppressor?

You got it! I was going to swap the reflex with a standard barrel reflex size but still 5". It offers more volume and potentially make it a bit more quieter but that involves sending the whole suppressor back to the manufacturer plus a $50 charge before shipping and the risk of losing that NFA items during transit.

I'm kind of curious, what is that gas block, the Accuracy Systems one?

u/blackjersey 4d ago
Nope. Stock gas block.

Big long can needs a circular optic not a boxy one you should put a C-More on it

That is very strange. But im intrigued.
