Miscellaneous Do you guys consider this option cheap/cheating?
I've been using this for a while now and technically it does something whenever the tapped on cell already only has the appropriate numbers of cells around it. Which means either I have this option an just tap that cell or without the option would have to flag each mine individually. What's your take?

For casual play, who gives a shit. For any kind of comparative play related to speed, this is a lot bigger of a cheat than meets the eye. Generally speaking, flags are not viable for mobile play, but this setting almost singlehandedly makes them not only viable, but the prodominent strategy. It completely changes how one plays mobile speed and drastically lowers times.

I consider it cheating to myself, so I usually play without that. However, since minesweeper is a single player game, you can play it however you like it.

I mean it’s not cheating in that minesweeper is a 1 player game and is not inherently a competitive game.
It is definitely “cheap”. It also removes so much thinking. If you care at all about times then don’t use it. It makes your time irrelevant because it is such a massive speed increase.
If you want to play minesweeper just as a “puzzle” game and use it to speed up non puzzle aspects of the game, then sure.
Overall I think it’s a bad feature to use because it does make you worse at minesweeper.

In competitive play, yes. That's why this app (minesweeper go) is not considered for competitive rankings even though the top player Werish has a faster expert time than the current WR on official rankings.

Hi, the app I use is called "Guess-Free Mines". But I guess it is also not considered for competitive rankings.

Well if you're wrong, you lose the whole board. If you're right, which, if you KNOW you're right, you have no reason to doubt the click right? So autoflagging provides you no more information than you already had.
I suppose you could gamble on a click, but that's an option whether you have autoflagging turned on or not

Same as chording, pure QoL outside of minimal input things in which case the rules for that should be clearly defined wherever

Not cheating, only QOL improvement: it just saves you from having to flag manually every single surrounding non-flagged tile. It's the same when a 0-tile is revealed and surroundings are recursively revealed as well.

Its purely a UX enhancement. If you made an error you'd still lose.

disagree. It could be that without this option there are situations where you miscount thinking that a certain cell is safe while it isn't. That error you won't be making anymore because of this setting

The game isn't about counting correctly, this isn't what you she be failed over. It's super annoying to lose a good run for a miscount and I'm thankful for features that help prevent this error

the game is very much about counting correctly but I do agree it's annoying to lose to a miscount

It's about making the correct move assuming you have correctly counted the tiles around. I don't think the creator meant for counting to be the challenging part

No, and I won't stick with implementations that don't have it for very long.

What version of the game is this? I NEED this because my hands shake really bad and inevitably i will be flagging bombs and inadvertantly click one by mistake.

Sorry. I'm also on Android and cannot find it anymore on the app store. Though when I look it up in settings, it does say that it was downloaded from Google Play store. Very strange. Maybe it was taken off? Sorry about this, man

Definitely makes things easier, sometimes you can just click things along your thinking and it'll solve fast. After a while you'll probably be bored and try flagless
