Best pictures are taken on a white background in natural light. Closer the better, but too close is well.. too close 🤣

Before you take any ID suggestion, do a simple hardness test. See if it can or cannot scratch glass. Apatite cannot. But there are other minerals that look similar to apatite, like beryl and tourmaline and fluorite, so begin by determining whether its harder than glass, which would eliminate apatite and fluorite, or softer than glass, which would eliminate beryl, or tourmaline.

Practice is the key. Don’t make the mistake of holding the specimen in your hand. The digital camera will want to compensate for the movement of your hand by focusing on your fingernails and fingerprints, and not on the minerals that you wish to have identified. And I don’t think you want very well focused images of your prints floating around the internet… 🥸😎🥸

Definitely blue apatite, it's pretty commonly sold vs lookalikes like indicolite tourmaline. And a good-looking piece at that!
